Received the CP13 yesterday. Listening now to some tapes dating to 1989. They still sound pretty solid. Can't remember if I added any EQ to them at the time. You lose a bit of staging and headroom from the cassette. Still very musical though and very engaging. Listening the Simple Minds Sparkle in the Rain and Dire Straits Brothers In Arms. Forces you to listen to the whole album as you did in the car back in the day. Seems my tapes did not degrade from where I stored them all these years. W/F is slight and tolerable. The onboard amp is decent, I'm listening at 50% and it's decently loud. Using my 99 Noirs currently. I'll try some other headphones later and some IEMs to see how the sound changes.

After seeing this red CP13, I ordered one today from AliExpress! I'm stoked, and I never thought I'd have a portable cassette player again. I have so many tapes in storage that I haven't played in decades. Most are copies of albums I bought with some containing playlists. So much looking forward to hearing them! Thanks so much Fiio!

As many of you know we are going to make cassette player, we are now trying our best to work out the production issues. We plan to release our CP13 before Feb, 2024. Considering that some people don't have tapes, we'll be giving away a copyrighted, original tape in countries that are allowed to give away tapes at sales events! Any idea about what you need for a cassette player, pls feel free to let us know. Let's revel in the timeless tunes, experience the soulful melodies.

the white and black is sexy. A pocket or belt clip is successful on a tape deck, but hard to implement elegantly.

What would you say are the genres that died with the cassette tapes? House music, New Wave, and Techno.
I think Rock, Metal, and Pop lived on. And disco died before and rap, r&b, hip hop, trance, edm came after, but I could be wrong. Can Fiio bring them back?

you could get Charlie Daniels on tape and he was on the radio, now look what happened.
