Its OK posting links to Amos's site. And thanks for the kind words. I'll post these on head-Fi as well when I get time. Main reason for going off-site is that my reviews never make front page anymore. Other people who also post their reviews first off-site still do. Must be something I said (or maybe my standards are slipping ....)

I am old enough to remember the original Dragnet tv show, also known as badge 714. Almost every episode Detective Sergeant Joe Friday would say "Just the facts ma'am or "Just the facts sir". Some people just don't want hear the facts and get upset if they hear them.

Guess I shouldn’t be surprised by the fact they did not mod the actual design. Kinda sneaky how they phrased it though. Thanks for the info.
If they made the insertion deeper then they must have modified the design, and any incremental mod to the design would have at least some impact on the sound due to different fit/placement inside the ear canal. They can call it what they want, I suspect there are differences beyond the colour. We wait and see.

That’s very interesting. No mention of the different ergonomics on the marketing material. Is the nozzle longer or thinner than the original, or did you tweak the shell design? And does the sound change at all between the original FH5 and this one?

It’s not really an FH5 if it fits different and sounds different, is it?
Dear friend,

The sound quality doesn't have difference in this black one.

Best regards.

Ok then, can you tell us how much deeper the nozzle goes into the ear? How did you make the nozzle longer - by extending it or changing the shape of the shell slightly?

Hi All FH5 owners. Whatever silicone tips I tried. The left ear will eventually become loose.
I tried shaking my head and left one will drop off. I am using acoustune tips now.
Only foam can keep it in but noticed clarity not as gd.
Any advice tks.

I didn’t like the larger foam tips, on account of the nozzles’ large diameter.

You could add spacers at the base of the nozzle to effectively increase insertion depth. In my case I started by creating a DIY o-ring from another tip, but then purchased some 1.5 mm section o-rings, and combined them with the large bass tips.

You can also get them for cheap in the plumbing dept of your local hardware store. 7/32” ID is about right:
