If you have a small ear canal opening the fh5 may be a problem with ear tips; i spent much time to find one for me which was the spinfit 155 medium.
That’s why I find foam tips usually work best. I’m hoping the Spiral Dot medium size fit my ears without losing seal, as their sound is far and away the best I’ve heard. If you have a small ear canal opening the fh5 may be a problem with ear tips; i spent much time to find one for me which was the spinfit 155 medium.
The short nozzle length is an issue for some people's ear geometries. Note that the last @TiborG post showed some o-rings in the mix, which enabled a wider tip selection.I would suggest you try as many tips as possibly to see which work best for you. I have found the FH5 to be very tip dependent. The Symbio W tips work the best for me. The next best for me were Large foam tips with additional length, such as the comply 500. JVC spiral dots didn't work for me and neither did Spinfits. However, you may find either of these work for you, so don't discount them. What I will say is preserver with trying different tips as when you find a pair that work, the FH5s are capable of sounding really really good.
Hello,
I've just pulled the trigger for FH5 pairing them with Cayin N5iiS over LC-2.5C cable. Works very good, but have question to more experienced forum/thread members which tips most of you are using with FH5? I've tried almost all of them included in the package, none work perfect for me. I like quite a lot the foam tips, but it seems those made the sound a bit muddy, especially the bass and midrange. I have ended up with Comply foam tips liking them, but maybe there are other good alternatives worth to try?
I agree with Isloo. You will just have to try different tips that fit the shape of your ear canal. The good news is different tips don't change the sound as much as on other IEMs (in my experience), so you're basically trying to get the best seal and comfort.
My canals are between S and M and shallow. For me Sony tips give me the best comfort. For a bullet-proof seal I use a pair of small double-flange tips I got from a VSonic IEM. The stock Fiio grey tips give me the best balance of comfort, seal and sound but I find their silicone a little too plasticky (not as as soft).
I haven't tried Spinfits (too long nozzle for me), Spirals (too expensive) or Symbios (have to wait a month to get them).

I'm using some 1.5 mm square profile o-rings from McMaster-Carr (dash number 117N141, $15.46 for a pack of 25, delivered):

Yes, I know. One of the member of local headphone forum said that CP145 SpinFit is the best one in terms of sound and Symbio's in term of fit and isolation.
To his own ears, true, but what he didn't tell you is that he has two different ear canals and been struggling to find any well isolating earphones since he remebers, nonetheless this sort of "condition" is quite common even without people knowing it.
You might also take a look at o-rings in the plumbing department of your local home improvement store. I saw a few round profile ones (like @TiborG was showing) at Home Depot a couple of days ago (6-pack for $3). 7/32" = 5.5 mm (ID), which is about right. Thanks for the link. I may give those a try.
glad pairing my new FH5 (im late in the train) with a ES100 in balanced mode. I listen for like an hour without any burning in and have to say that they sounded un-even in the bass -> mids transition (no cohesive), and have to apply some EQing by lifting the mids a little. Later that night i pull out the mesh and let them burning in for like 5hrs with gray noise at mid-high volume from the ES100. And now they sound great AF, and had to re-eq by only adding 2db in the lowest just for fun. they sound now awesome with any kind of music (i listen to scandinavian metal mostly but also a lot of nirvana, pink floyd, bob marley, david gilmour, and of course, jazz when in the mood). And like the FH5 a lot with its tight bass, controlled and also hits when have to and keep it when is not called.
BTW, im using the Sipnfit CP100, but after like 2hrs of music, my ears began to suffer a little of pressure

Is there a plan on releasing a future BTR5 or so with a balanced out? dunno if you will approach the Infinity Sound into the bluetooth range (as the Radsone Es100)
Im quite fine with the ES100 with the tuning capabilities of its app, but since im a fan of yours, im interested in your vision
And of course, is there any info of the future FH7? will love to have it in metal with the ergonomics of the FA7..... just my particular preference
Stay updated on FiiO at their sponsor profile on Head-Fi.

Try the radsone es100I'm loving the FH5 and want to know if you guys can help me with one question.
Will be a good match with the Audirect Beam portable? Any DAP recommendations at 100-150?
