I mostly agree with that review. This is funny to me. starts to drop at 24Hz. Referring to bass. Bass starts to roll off at 24hz. I wouldn't call that a roll off. Lol.

Was just thinking about you, seriously... When I read about the silver cable I wondered whether you had tested with a pure copper cable by any chance as it often does miracles adding a little bit of warmth while taking out the last bit of sibilance.

Oh yea I mention on my review for folks that want a bit more warmth to the FD7 sound. Pure copper does wonders for mids and bass fullness. Brings a different flavor to the FD7 actually. You can throw on the widest nozzle which opens up the treble end a bit more using a pure copper cable. Gives the absolute best fullness and bass for the FD7 in conjunction with an amp.

Source synergy is huge for the FD7. My IBasso DX300Max and the FD7 has zero bass roll off as far as I can hear. It is about as punchy and well extended as it gets. If your listening to the FD7 using a phone or a weaker source that is where bass becomes a bit subdued.

50 ohm power rating folks. It means it needs some powa. Bass takes a hit and the sound becomes a bit thin if you don't feed it right.

Well written and solid review 👍. He hit the nail on the head in regards to the soundstage and musicality. It is more realistic and 3D than FD5 with pinpoint imaging. I find that it does all genres really well too. More of a jack of all trades type, versatile IEM.

I have been burning the FD7 for about 150 hours and I haven't listened to it!
It seems that I am very patient...
Today is the day, night listening sessions.
Very patient! I hope the wait pays off and you enjoy it very much.

I am around 50 hours of burn-in and the FD7 opens up more and more. The bass getting more headshaking, tactile and very precise. Out of the box, it was wooly and bloaty. The stage getting larger and the imaging is now very pinpointy. Microdetails are crazy for a single DD. You can hear almost every little thing in the music. I can't discripe the sound of this BE driver, it is bolt and smooth but very detailed and precise at the same time. I like this alot! For a long time and many iems, it makes me happy again! :)

After a long night listening session I think that I am thrilled.
Not even going to bother with the rest of the nozzles!!!
The stock one, nails tonality perfect, well at least for me.
Listening to classical with FD7 is just magic.
They must be the most open sounding iem I have ever tested.
It makes some open back like HD650 to sound comparatively closed!

Look forward to your further thoughts and in particular vs IE900, my current single DD reigning champion!

I've just recently bought the Fiio EM5 which is my first Fiio earphone and entry to modern buds, blown away by them and now curious on their IEMs. I actually plan my 2nd Head-Fi review on the EM5 and starting to put pen to paper!

Curious how it stacks up vs ZEN and indeed ZEN Pro - I enjoy ZEN but not a massive fan, Pro might shift my view.
