If I were in your shoes I'd do the exchange. Mine does not rattle either.
Thanks. In the process of exchanging it. Will have to break in the replacements again. Was tempted to get the EA1 instead, but since now only $20 difference, I’ll stick with the Blue FD1. I like all of the accessories.

They are still such a great deal. I had the opportunity to compare them with the IT00 in the meantime and for me it's a no contest. Soundstage, imaging, control and speed are better on the FD1. It also sounds more dynamic, detailed and clarity seems to be much better, but this may at least partially be caused by the very different tuning with the more accentuated treble of the FD1. The IT00 will probably nevertheless be a huge success, they imo resemble the Sennheiser HD6X0 headphones a lot and these are after all ultra popular despite me personally not especially liking them.

I appreciate the different POV! The mids, especially upper mids on the FD01 are fantastic, and the sound is very textured. I haven’t yet received my IT00.

No objection here, the FD1 apparently have more of a w- than v-shaped sound signature. Lots of energy in bass and treble without anemic mids. They imo can however get a bit shouty in upper mids and treble, i wouldn't recommend a bright source for use with them.

Thanks, btw, quite some user said the same thing, that the FD1 will be far more great when you have a decent amp/DAP

Quite some..this verifies that in car analogy you had built a v12 car. Leaded 96 octane fuel drives it yeah. But to reach that engines maximum potential you have to fill in 99 octane super uber leadless fuel in it 😀

This has been my experience so far, the FD1 out preforms the two other IEMs I own which each cost twice as much- they don't get any listening time anymore!

I'm really looking forward to seeing what Fiio will come up with in the future after purchasing these headphones.

Yes, they are so good and not just for the money. I'm using them at work and am still looking forward to do so after more than two weeks despite having some rather expensive hi-fi headphone stuff at home. They are giving me rather heretical thoughts if this, a decent portable source and Spotify wouldn't actually be enough to 'enjoy the music'...

If a simple setup helps one get out of their own heads, and instead of analyzing everything, just relax and truly “enjoy the music”, then that’s a success, and not heretical at all! The FD1 is certainly a keeper. I think it stands out from the crowd.

Received a pair of these today and they feel like they are an Urbanfun YBF-ISS014 sibling, I wouldn't be surprised if someone told me these two share the same driver. As with human siblings there are similarities but also differences. Without going back to the UF to directly compare I think it's safe to say that they have similar bass presentation and quality but it's more elevated in the UF. I think UF has also more prominent upper mids and the FiiO has definitely more (and a bit too) prominent (for me) treble, this using UF with wide bore tips and FiiO with narrow bore ones.

To exchange or not?

My FD1 sounds great, w/o any notable sonic issues. I also don’t get driver flex easily, despite the MP taped vent. The only issue is that the left earpiece has something that rattles in it when you shake it, the right doesn’t. It sort of comes and goes, and I mostly just notice it when first inserting the IEMs (I don’t routinely shake my IEMs :relaxed:.). I still have a few days open for Amazon exchange, but since it doesn‘t seem to affect sound at all, I’m hesitant to bother with an exchange.

Has anyone else noticed a rattle in an earpiece? It sounds like something is loose, but is not completely untethered within the shell.
I have rattle in both earpieces
