If i had to find a issue it would be the cable strain relief is a bit lacking in the 3.5 connector and especially the Y split. Maybe some time in the future could you release a L jack 3.5 cable with some more reinforced cable strain protectors?

thanks ,the F9SE will comes with a cable with L jack, about the F9, we will consider it in the future too.

the F9 series will includes 4 model,

F9 SE: removed the mmcx/control/micphones and only supports 3.5mm jack.

F9;

F9 PRO: used the 30017 2BA from Knowledge. and maybe better cable too.

F9 LTD: Brass+Gold plated and better cable too.

I think the F9 will become a classical model and we can keep updating it in the future.

James - whichever the most premium version will be - would you consider switching to 2-pin instead of MMCX?

In my opinion , both 2-PIN and MMCX is not good design but the market decided everything so we have not plan to change to 2-pin or any other connectors . and of course, the F9 LTD will be the most premium version.

Thanks James

Can I suggest something else then. if you are sticking with MMCX, then perhaps look into a screw tight cap (like the Fidue A91). It would solve all the problems with possible poor connections, and definitely solve longevity. MMCX is a reasonable standard - and both Fidue and also Jays with their new q-Jays have very viable solutions.

Photos below - they are very good solutions:

Good advice, let's hope FiiO listens. If FiiO really wants to produce a top of the line Limited Edition then this would be the perfect upgrade to add to it.

I known there are several connector are based on mmcx but if they are not compatible with other cable why we choose it ?

Look at the photo of the Fidue one - it is compatible with any MMCX - the top photo shows a CA cable connected. But the Fidue cable actually has a screw cap, so it secures the connection. A secured connection protects, prevents disconnects, and always holds it in place.

PM me if you want James - I can send you the Fidue so you can see how good it is. It should become the MMCX standard - but only if more companies adopt it.

I mean that there are not 3rd party cable supports such design although they all can be used in Fidue's MMCX.

Yes - you can use 3rd party cables, and no - no-one else does a similar cap to Fidue. That's where true leaders show innovation, and that's one of the ways you can build a standard though. By supporting a good idea. The more who adopt, the more it will be recognised. Even the longest journey starts with a single step.

Please don't include a better cable. I believe that one of the strongest points of the f9 is the price. There are many excellent iems, but they cost a lot, so you should strive to keep the price as low as possible, to stay in the "affordable but high quality" niche.

I like the fact that the f9 doesn't have boomy bass, but keeps it almost at reference level, with a slight boost. The main issue for professional use, is the peaks it has, especially at 8khz. The 30017 may solve the issue, but what can a cable do except increase the price even more? Maybe add 0.3db from 18khz to 40khz? The f9 has the crispiness that many like for consumer use, but with the pro you should try to achieve a frequency response as flat as the price range permits.
