So I had my F9 for a few days. Keep in mind this is my first IEM ever. I mostly use Grados for my headphones both inside and outside. I wanted an IEM since wearing Grados outside in Florida will make you sweat A LOT. The F9 features make it a winner (balanced cable for my X5 3rd Gen, able to swap cables to pretty much any way you want, easy fit, etc.).

So far I'm very happy with them. It feels great on my ears, and it is a perfect match via balanced to my X5. The sound is neutral (not warm), it can be bright depending on the recording, bass is ok (but I am still breaking them in), good soundstage to me for an IEM.

These can compete with higher priced IEMs and Over Ear headphones in my opinion. Cable swapping could make them sound even better.

I promised myself I have all the audio gear I needed until I could save up for a HD800S in future years, but the curiosity about this F9 is bringing out the purchasing impulse again... Currently using an SE425, heard the SE535 at a meet and decided the difference wasn't worth the jump in cost, but if the F9 can reach parity with either of these, I might just buy one and try to sell the Shure. Going to wait to see the impressions for the Pro version with the Knowles BA before making a decision though, wonder what difference that'll make, if any.

I would like to buy from the official aliexpress store. Can they sell for this price of USD $ 99.99 the Fiio F9?
Dear friend,

Sorry, the shipping method in Aliexpress of the f9 is DHL, so the price may be higher.

Best regards

F9 is now available on Amazon. Triple Hybrid Drivers earphones with detachable cables for 99.99USD only!!!
https://www.amazon.com/dp/B074TXH4KX

$99.99 is currently £75.67.

Why are we in the UK always paying so much more?

The current UK price on Amazon for the F9 is £109.00 or $144.05 (I was lucky to pay £89.00)

So we pay £33.33 or $44.04 more, it is so unfair.

On smaller items like this it is bearable, but when you scale it up to such things as my Dell laptop then the difference becomes vast.

Sorry Rant over.

I just received the F9.

They are smaller than I thought. They are closer to the size of my Tennmak Pro (which are similarly shaped to the Shure SE215) than for example the KZ ZST.

They are able to render high frequency sounds that most of my earphones/headphones can't. The "High Res" sticker is not just on the box for show, they can truly render more details.

The non-balanced cable is pretty good. The rubber is a bit "grippy" so they may not be ideal to use for working out but they don't have a lot of memory and have pretty good build quality.

So far I'm very pleased but like usual, I will try to have a few more days of listening before passing any concrete judgement. Right now though, I am very happy with them.

I Don't know if this is the case but, in US price is most of the times shown without taxes; In UE all prices must be shown with country VAT, but even if this is the case, price does not match since VAT in UK if I'm not mistaken is about 20%;

Nevertheless I feel the same regarding this "overpricing" markups in UE :|

Yes VAT is 20% here, so our government is part of the problem, but I am also guessing (not being an economist) that the rest is to do with lousy EU trade deals which we are all subject to, roll on BREXIT.

Well for what I know on the subject, "BREXIT" will only worsen price markups in UK. But that is not a topic for this thread :p
