Yes indeed they are. But be wary of the size that you order if you’re intending to order one. ML size fits best for my ears but it may vary for different ear shapes and sizes. Ensuring a perfect fit for eartips significantly improves sound and helps create a perfect seal that give you ultimate sound isolation as well.
I'm selling my F9 also. :D But i want to get the PRO's... These are the first IEM's that dont hurt my ears and don't fall off. :)
Absolutey agree. They are so comfortable and light and fit so snugly in my ears. With other IEMs, I always struggle to get the right fit in my ears and they are loose or too tight and I have to keep moving them around in my ears to get a good seal. .The F9 Pro is a perfect fit and seal. And they sound great too. Truly remarkable effort from Fiio.

I heard the F9 for a few minutes at the Athens HiEnd Show yesterday.

They sounded very lean and peaky.

Hope the other models sound better because this felt way too flat to be able to really enjoy music.

Must have been a tip issue. They do have a peak at 7kHz as Brooko has pointed out, but I could happily listen to them with no EQ on an X7ii with a half decent recording. There is also plenty of bass.

They could sound lean, as would most headphones/IEMs, is with a poor recording.

They sounded lean and peaky when i got the wrong tips on them (small).
The medium size changed it in a much better way. :D

Finally received the F9's a few days ago and impressed so far. I'll admit, I was worried they sounded a little too harsh out of the box but things seem to have smoothed out after a day of burn-in and installing Comply tips as a few of you guys have suggested.

I get what folks are saying about the 7kHz spike as I find myself being forced to lower the volume on certain tracks. The majority of music that i listen to seems fine if it doesn't have pronounced snare hits or claps.

The vocals/instrument separation is the best i've heard with my limited IEM experience (mainly cheapo Sony's/Beats with bass emphasis). More than anything, I was surprised that these things can give such a good sound stage. To me, the F9's sound like there's some "open-ness" witchcraft happening - i kept inspecting the units to see where they are being allowed to breath. :)

I gave myself a strict $100 budget due to recent purchases (HD6xx's) and now wondering if i should have sprung for the F9 Pro's. Will be very interested for more reviews/impressions on that but also understand that there's always something better and more expensive when it comes to audio equipment.

I'm hoping these don't turn into a gate-way IEM addiction for me!

Generally if someone tells me an IEM is overly lean and peaky my first thought is an improper seal.
