Hi
Practical review of these:
First set was broken= headphoneplug inverted(no plug, no wireless or DAC function). Till I got replacement, I had a Y splitter in to make wireless work

Sound I find great
Quality and price match, great tech but a lot of plastic and poor quality control
ANC, lower middle: Car steady speed good, Embraer e190 good, 737 ok, car speeding up ok. Wife said: why are my old Sony better
Sound Wireless geat
Sound Wired great
Sound DAC great
APP, lower middle
they feel good on the head

If they make a better APP and ANC, they are great overall and on the bargain side
To me, today, its clear: If you want a ok anc but good sounding 2020 wireless headphone in midrange, buy these.

Kind regrds

If you change the equaliser with the app, will the settings be saved in the headphones and then apply also if the headphones are used with other different Bluetooth sources that don't have the app?

Just upgraded my EH3NC's firmware to 1.6 from stock. At the very least, it has fixed the uneven volume control on my Android phone and adds "power on" and "power off" voices, both of which are big quality of life improvements. It was a very easy process following the instructions on my Windows 10 PC and finished in less than 5 minutes.

Here's the link to it: http://fiio.me/forum.php?mod=viewthread&tid=45008&extra=page=1

@FiiO When connected to a computer via USB, is the head set powered directly via the power from the computer or still via the battery? My worry was damaging or shortening the life of the battery if its constantly charging whilst in use.

Dear user,

When connecting to the computer via usb, the EH3NC will be charged at the same time.
After the battery is full: Because there is no need to charge the battery anymore, the USB port would power the device directly. The battery would neither be charged nor discharged. So you don't need to worry too much about the battery in this usage.

Best regards

Since I don't know whether FiiO representatives read the other EH3 thread, I will copy my impression on the mesh earpads:

I ordered the mesh earpads alongside the headphones. First, they are visibly smaller (both the diameter and the height) than the leather earpads that come installed on the headphones: whereas the leather ones fit comfortably, my ears couldn't fit inside the mesh ones. I have fixed this by manually stretching the pads, by they still fit quite snug and chafe my ears a bit (the texture is also not plush). I should note, however, that I am spoiled by the pads on DT 990. (I am making this comparison since one of the use cases I have in mind for the EH3 is watching films from the TV. I think, in the long run, I will probably stick with DT 990 through a BT amp for this purpose (well, at least once Shanling releases an app, so one could use aptX LL). EH3 works great for this currently, though.)

More importantly, though, the sound is absolutely rubbish with the mesh earpads on: clanky, metallic and hollow. The ANC actually improves the sound signature in this case...

Question for FiiO directly... Using the EH3 NC on my smartphone ( OnePlus 7T ) there is more than enough volume... It can get very loud if I want it to. However when using it paired with the FiiO M11Pro I feel the volume is very low by comparison... How can I get more volume out of the FiiO EH3 NC headphones while paired with the FiiO M11Pro?

You need yp go to Developer Options and either check or uncheck Absolute Volume control. Then try to increase volume from headphones or from the phone/dap.

Yes... I forgot about that. Tried it before... I was then able to max out volume on the headphones volume rocker and use the players volume to adjust for a better defined volume... Conversely my phone is going to need to enable it because the volume ceiling would probably wreck the headphones and blow out an ear drum... Thank you for the reply

Some questions regarding this headphones as I have a very very good deal and I would like to have them answered before the buy

- It accepts multi-device as for example Bose QC35? I need to have connected more than 1 device at the same time
- The usb-c can be connected to a usb-c output of a device or its limited to usb to 3.5 jack? in order to have a better connectivity, of course
- Can I use a balanced cable in order to use them wired with a balanced output? (Important point to be honest)
- What about the quality materials?
- Is there spare parts to buy? Where?

Thanks for the answers :)
