Hey, I'm finally getting a portable amp, so I of course looked at Fiio. Having had my birthday recently, I have a bit more money than usual, so I was hoping to get a bit of a higher end amp. I've been debating between the E11 and E07K for some time now. The E07K however, can also be used as a DAC so I'm heavily leaning towards that. Then I saw on amazon that they have the old model, the E7, for $35 cheaper, and I was wondering what the difference was? so yeah, thanks!

I have been wondering a same thing. FiiO's E07K website does a pretty good job of explaining the difference.

He is not asking for a comparison between the E17 and E07K but a comparison of the OLD E7, the predecessor of the E07K.

I have them both. The E07K is better in all regards to the E7. Better OS, better sound (especially soundstage), better battery life.

I would not buy the E7, rather go for the current model, the E07K.

Here you can read what changed from the E7 to the E07K: http://headfonics.com/2012/12/fiio-e07k-the-andes/

Cheers,
K
