So my friend has been using his FiiO E07K for 4 days and now it wont turn on.

Here's what happened:

He put his PC to sleep then proceeded to turn off the DAC.

When he turned his computer back on, and tried to turn on the DAC it wouldn't work.

He looked around for a while and found out that pressing the reset button (Tiny hole) allowed him to get the DAC to work, but the screen does not show anything. And everytime he turns it off he has to preset the tiny reset button if he wants it to go back on.

Any idea what it might be? Thanks.

Exactly 12 hours later now, it works like new again. I'm feeling sketchy about it for a while. Things such as this usually occur to me, despite my tender care for all of my tech.

It's a shame my first post here turned out from a negative experience for me with just starting out with decent audio equipment. My new headphones (SR850) proved problematic as well in comfort over a very lengthy session. Will be upgrading for the Q40 (Planned before I decided upon the E07K). Hopefully my omnipresent lack of luck will leave my amp and headphones alone from hereon.

Glad you don't have to return it.

Though I wonder why it happened at all in the first place....

These problems do happen sadly. From the E17 to E07K, I have experienced some small glitches every now and then. The solution is usually to plug it into computer through USB or to get a pin and hit the reset switch that is located between the dual headphone outs.

Unlike simple headphone amps and units availble elsewhere. The FiiO's have a UI and EQ and many options for you to graphicaly choose from as opposed to just some switch or knob that can easily be coded for.

But of course do watch out. Sometimes these are not glitches but are other problems that may lead to a dead or faulty unit. These things do happen.

This just in: the holy spirits didn't answer my prayers for some reason, and this DAC is back to its naughty behaviour. I have to return it. As of the day before I am waiting for FiiO to reply to my e-mail. I fear this replacement process will lapse perhaps a month, considering their company is in China, before I can resume enjoying quality music again (and even then I suspect that it will not end there).

I also bought the ASUS XONAR_DG a couple weeks prior to this thing, which worked at first as well. Unfortunately for whatever reason after a few PC start ups, it wouldn't boot an overwhelming percentage of the time. My PC is a Gateway FX6840-15e with that 450W PSU and the graphics card is replaced by a GTX 560 SE. I'm mentioning this because I'm unsure if the reason is that it's too much for the power supply to handle when starting up.

The problem doesn't even end there either (/wrists), but mentioning them all would be irrelevant here.
