Can anyone show a picture of the included cables, etc.? I'm really interested in using this CD player with my headphone amp via coax rather than line out, but 3.5mm coax cables are hard to find and expensive.
>The player comes with a specific adapter, please see the pictures on this post on weibo forums/chat:

I have received my Silver FiiO DM13 with Bluetooth today order via Taobao, very happy listening with my 4.4mm IEM 😊

But there’s one thing i cannot understand. I cannot seem to find the battery indicator, how to know when the battery is fully charged or how many bars of the battery is left 😅

Sorry for the noob question 🙏🏻
Short press the power button (on the left most) when DM13 is on then it'll display the status in the format 'BATx' which x is 1-5 represents 100% (5) to 20%-40% {1} and 0 for need charging.

I've struggled a long time then only found this out in fiio's Chinese only faq. https://www.fiio.com/newsinfo/963178.html

There is no indication of any kind when I plugged USB c cable in for charging. I am still not sure what will change it but the shop warned to use standard charger 5v/1A only and fiio said quick charge is not supported. Still not sure if I get it charged so far. This is a really bad design for such essential function.

preordered almost a month ago but there's a bit of delay in the debut and just received it near end Oct.

I got the silver BT ver. there's quite a lot of driving power from the 4.4mm out with alter ego. I just use it with vol 22 and there's plenty of loudness already. not sure if that's due to the CD ver or what, there seems quite a lot of bass impact from the recording (comparing with different music I heard from my R9, BTR7, BTR15, etc.). i only have 2 CDs left (thrown away hundreds CDs years ago when I last moved from my old home . . .) but both suffering from skipping and reading difficulties on certain particular tracks. both are hybrid SACD, not sure if that matters.

if DM13 could works with a remote, than it will be a great convenient feature too!

on charging, despite there's no signal on the display at all, after about 45mins charging from BAT3, my exinno 300w charger turns out able to charge it and got it to BAT5 (full) so not just standard charger will work.

On some pictures of the bottom plate of the DM13 I saw 5V/2A rating, maybe you can confirm ? So I don't know if is able to play a CD and charge at the same time with 5V/1A. 5W seems already quite a lot of power for such device... My 1995 Technics is supposed to draw 4.5V/300mA max, so 1.35W !!!

yes, the quick start guide says 5V-2A adaptor is recommended. I guess the power is related to the charging speed.

Thanks. That's exactly what I needed to see.
This is a very specific technical question: I'm hoping to connect this CD player to my DAC/headphone amp via coaxial. My Fiio Alpen E17k 2 DAC came with a 3.5 (TR male) to coaxial (female) adapter cable (https://cdn.head-fi.org/a/12483846.jpg). The DM13 comes with a similar -- but TRRS male -- adapter cable (https://cdn.head-fi.org/a/12536355_thumb.jpg). Does it matter if the 3.5 coax cable is TR, TRS, or TRRS? I was just going to get a coax RCA male-to-male cable to jump between these two adapters.

My POV is ; if they made a TRRS adapter, it is probably that they use the extra ring for the SPDIF signal, and not the "tip" that should be Left analog signal on normal 3.5mmTRS. So yes I would advise you to use dedicated adapters on both sides and a std coax cable in between ;TRRS jack on DM13 and TR jack on the Alpen, not to mess up with signals.
This will not be nice and clean cable arrangement, but i'm sure 99% it will work at least.
The ultimate solution would be to have a TRRS jack with solder pins and check the signals with a multimeter with bargraph, (ideally an oscilloscope) and then make a specific cable TRRS to TR.

That's what I figured, considering the RCA end is truly coaxial. Thanks.

HiFi Balanced Output Portable Stereo CD Player DM13 Is Officially Released!

9968839.jpg

Specially designed audio architecture, dual flagship CS43198 DACs
Two flagship Cirrus Logic CS43198 chips are paired with two low-noise HiFi SGM8262 headphone amps in the DM13’s specially designed audio architecture. The combination of dual DACs and dual amplifiers allows the portable CD player to exhibit truly high-quality sound.

FIIO engineers also specially designed an output stage that better captures the sound of the DAC, with that same DAC chip controlling the volume. The DAC chip allows for a 99-level fine volume adjustment that not only achieves smooth volume changes but also makes the sound at any volume level clearer.
*Standard version cannot transmit Bluetooth.

Tiny body, enormous power
FIIO designers have combined manufacturing craftsmanship and structural design to shrink down the DM13 to be smaller than most other CD players, with dimensions of approximately 144*137*27mm (excluding feet). The DM13 also features an ESP (electronic skip protection) switch, ensuring a stable and pleasant sound experience whether you're on the go or listening while stationary.

The DM13 may be compact but packs impressive performance, distinguishing it from other similar products. It not only drives most headphones but can also connect to powered speakers or other headphone amps for an extraordinary listening experience.
9968886.jpg

Dual analog and digital outputs
The DM13 comes with 3.5mm+4.4mm headphone outputs as well as 3.5mm+4.4mm line outputs, allowing for connections to headphones or active speakers and power amplifiers.

The DM13 also features optical and coaxial digital outputs for connection to an external DAC. Moreover, it combines custom low-jitter crystal oscillators to ensure accurate synchronization of the digital clock, resulting in cleaner and more stable digital signal transmission.

USB CD ripping, more ways to play
Compared to similar levels of portable CD players, the DM13 comes with a rarely-seen function of USB CD ripping. You can rip your favorite CDs into WAV files stored on a portable storage device, making it easy to share with friends and family. The WAV music files on that portable storage device can then be easily transferred to other computers or phones, allowing you to play the music on your CDs anytime, anywhere.
*Only supports FAT32 formatted storage devices.

Gapless and smooth playback
In the early stages of designing this product, we extensively collected user feedback and overcame many challenges to carefully create a range of user-friendly and thoughtful features - including gapless playback, ability to keep favorites, and loop playback. The loop playback function supports looping on a single track, random tracks, and even on the entire CD – allowing you to customize how you want to listen.

For more impressive features, such as the custom high-contrast, long-lasting LCD display, patented desktop mode, 10 hours of playback from lithium batteries, and aptX High-Res Bluetooth transmission, please visit the product page on our website.

Apologies if this is a 'daft' question. How can the (one) visible output at the back of the DM13 be both 'coaxial' and 'optical'?

As I understand it, you need a little conversion device (e,g. coaxial to optical bi-directional converter, etc.) to connect the two types of signal?

I am looking to connect the existing digital output of the DM13 to an active speaker with a 'toslink ' input. Any clarification gratefully received. Thanks!

The cable you will need is called mini-TOSLink to TOSLink.
