FiiO releases the new firmware for BTR3K!

The following changes and improvements have been made to the FW1.3 for BTR3K:

1. Added setting button operation modes via app (now you can choose to skip tracks with the middle button of the in-line control; the recent version of FiiO Control app is required for using this function);
2. Added holding the volume buttons to continuously adjust volume (available when the button operation mode is NOT set to "Hold volume buttons to skip tracks");
3. Fixed the issue where the power-on prompt was not complete when using OMTP headphones;
4. Fixed the issue where the audio might be muted or distorted when the BTR3K was connected with two devices and both devices were playing or making calls at the same time;
5. Fixed the issue where the beginning of the playback sound might be missing when connected to the computer via Bluetooth;
6. Increased the volume adjustment range for phone calls (up to 0dB, adjusted via app);
7. Miscellaneous bug fixes

@FiiO - Does these supports the Spatial Sound/Dolby Atmos for Headphones app in Windows 10?
Dear friend,

The BTR3K may not support Dolby because it could only output stereo but not multichannel.

Best regards

Hi, I have both the btr3k and the m5 and I have a hard time finding what benefits does the btr3k have over the m5?
tnx!
Unless you need the balanced output, I don't see any benefits of BTR3K over M5 either.

Dear friend,

The M5 support more functions comparing with the BTR3K. However, the BTR3K is cheaper and support 2.5mm output. You don't need to select Bluetooth receiver mode in BTR3K like in the M5.

I think "Age" is supposed to be the age of the poster, not the company :jecklinsmile:

Hi, I own the fiio m5 and fiio btr3k. The sq in both in ldac codec streaming from tiddle hifi is much less good than play flac directly from the m5. I mean like a really noticeable and significant improvement.
So now I consider to by the fiio m6, and The question is how much is the m6 better than the m5 in sound quality, when play directly offline songs?

This question is better suited for the M6 thread: https://www.head-fi.org/threads/fii...ic-player-embracing-a-wireless-future.895315/

Hi, I just received my BTR3K.
I'm not an audiophile and never used a balanced connection before.
Can anyone help me with a couple of questions?
1) Can I use the 2.5mm port with a regular unbalanced cable?
2) If I purchase a balanced 2.5mm to 3.5mm cable, can it be used with any headphones?
3) Can I connect 2 headphones simultaneously?
4) Are there different types of balanced cables? Or may I buy any 2.5 to 3.5 cable I'm able to find? (I will purchase in Aliexpress)

Hi ,

In order to fully utilize the balanced output you need a fully balanced cable.
Not a 2.5 to 3.5mm adapter.
Converting from balanced to unbalanced with adapters isn't a good idea.
Do not use balanced to single ended adapter.
If your headphones don't support balanced cable then just use the 3.5mm output which is already fine.
I don't know if you can use both outputs simultaneously.

Thanks!
I won't mess around with the balanced output.
I only have budget headphones (both bluetooth) a Cowin E7 and I'm buying a Anker Q30. Doubt they are balanced.
