I am using S23 Ultra. I have dual physical sim installed and both are active, mobile data and wifi are both active, NFC is active, Uwb is active, Mobile hotspot is active. Despite all this, the sound is pristine.

What phone do you have? Maybe he/she is doing this with more than one phone, or maybe it doing it when a call comes in.
I am using Iphone 15 plus. There’s noise both USB and Bluetooth mode. I’m not so sure if my unit is defective or not. Also the volume knob is kinda rattling. I own this BTR17 almost a month. But since I have so many devices and very busy with something else so I didn’t pay much attention to it. I don’t have this kind of interference noise with my Musehifi M5 ultra with tube on tho.

Thank you for the informative post. I attempted to install the firmware, but the initial attempt was unsuccessful. I performed a factory reset on the BTR17, unpaired it from my S23 Ultra, and then re-paired the devices before trying again. Unfortunately, the second attempt also failed. Subsequently, I executed a factory reset from the App, which caused the device to enter a loop, attempting to install the firmware 2-3 times. Eventually, the installation was successful. Following this, I performed a factory reset on the device immediately after powering it on again. The LDAC codec seems to be remembered, as confirmed from the FiiO App and Settings. I have powered the device on and off five times.

I no longer use LDAC, nor do I pair my BTR17 with my S23 Ultra. I am now using my Creative BT-W6 to listen to aptX Lossless, which works fantastically.
I had a pre order first run unit from AliExpress. Works just fine 🤣 I should go buy a lottery ticket.

I've just taken my BTR17 out on a train journey and it's picking up lots of interference (buzzing sounds). I've noticed this with cheap dongles before but I never had it on the BTR7 (or my M23). I guess the shielding on the analogue stage just isn't very good on then BTR17? I'm using the 4.4mm balanced output in Bluetooth mode (no USB cables).

A bit annoying since I primarily bought the BTR17 for commuting purposes!

Interesting, even since yesterday I was seeing some new options in FiiO Control, before the firmware was released.

These settings came with the update that came 3-4 days ago, but they were not effective. As of today, they all work.

@FiiO @FiiO Kang Fiio Control app works great with the latest update and BTR17 update. It connects quickly, applies settings quickly, and the interface works quickly. I wouldn't say it's very fast, but it's acceptably slow. Congratulations

When you pair the W6 creative aptx lossless in fiio btr17 what is displayed? Aptx LS or what?

I live in a single apartment room. And it picks up buzzing sound in very annoying way especially when I place my phone near it within about 1 foot. Tho it doesn’t happen all the time. So I wonder how could they do so bad that their cheaper product did much better in the shielding.

Unfortunately, the distortion compensation setting still doesn't work properly. It always ends up on 2/2 (second/third harmonic).

On another note, they added more complete names for the low pass filters.

When I pair my BT-W6 to the BTR17, if no music is playing, it shows aptX-AD in green colour. The led on the BT-W6 is purple. This shows that the devices are connected but not actively streaming audio. As soon as I will start playing some music, via YouTube Premium for example, the led turns yellow and on the BTR17 it displays aptX-LS in green.

Please note that in the Creative App on my laptop, I have set the Audio Quality to 16 bit / 44.1 kHz for aptX Lossless.

@JamontS @OhmsClaw @hulkytrog
I heard the crackling noise you mentioned. It is audible when I hold the charging port of my S23 Ultra to where the 3.5mm and 4.4mm outputs of the BTR17 are, but when I hold it to the screen of the BTR17, the noise becomes more audible.

BTR17 is receiving EMI noise from the display side. By placing a piece of paper in front of the BTR17's screen, I was able to completely block this noise from occurring. The protective case also blocks this noise a little, but with the paper the noise is completely gone. The paper I used was a little thicker than A4 paper.

Is the Low-ripple fast the consensus, then?

@FiiO @FiiO Kang When we exit the Fiio Control application, the distortion compensation settings are 2 and 2. This problem is still not fixed.

There's zero buzzing over BT. There's hardly any over wired. It's barely when being bothered by 5g

None of settings I set via Android app stay. Reboot BTR17 and all settings are unset again, do I have to update XMOS part?

What I'm saying happens under all conditions whether wired, Bluetooth connected, 4g or 5g connected. I think it's a little bit more with 5g.

It reaches its highest level when sending and receiving SMS. Sometimes this noise disappears completely.

This can happen more often in a fast-moving vehicle, such as a train or car, because the phone has to jump from one base station to another to receive a signal.
