FiiO BTA10-Additional Version for Audio-Technica ATH-MSR7 Series
Aug 1, 2019 at 6:08 AM Post #16 of 27
Dear friend,

Thanks for your kind feedback. The BTA10 have two version: 2.5mm version for M50X and 3.5mm version for MSR7
.....
Best regards

@FiiO thanks for your reply :)

Yes I understand the difference but I have the new 'b' version MSR7b.

This has 2 connectors and 2 cables. One is to 3.5mm and the other is 2.5/4mm balanced.

So I want to know if I connect mine using 3.5 mm - 2.5 mm adapter like my picture and put the BTA10 in my pocket will it work electrically ? Of course I do not want to try without knowing in case it damages the headphones.

Dear friend,

Theoretically, you idea could work. But if possible you could test first?

Best regards

Yes I think it might but please would you ask your engineers if there is a possibility it could damage my Msr7b as it has been designed for another model ?

Maybe it is passive and does not send any voltage or anything back to the headphone but I want to be extra careful - I hope you understand

Hi! Are there any plans on making a dedicated version specifically for ATH-M40X? That would be a great addition to BTA10 selection! :)
Dear friend,

Thank you for the kind interest on our products.
Sorry we do not have plan about that currently.

Best regards

FYI

Unfortunately it looks like the BTA10 doesn’t work with the MSR7 NC noise cancelling version. The 3.5 mm plug is too short and the NC button on the MSR7 is too large to accommodate the short BTA10 plug. I only get sound if I push in the BTA10 hard and it falls out immediately if I let go.
