I think the firmware can be updated, but the app is only via app stores.
I would restrict it to USB-C iOS thingies… I have an older iPhone with a lightning port and, although BT11 does work with an adapter, ‘BT11+Adapter’ is an impractical solution IMO (way too bulky & inconvenient).I think iOS was the most obvious use case for a portable LDAC dongle/transmitter, and that's where the focus was placed. Maybe this will change with time.
i think maybe a cable with one USB-C to two USB-C is good for youI would restrict it to USB-C iOS thingies… I have an older iPhone with a lightning port and, although BT11 does work with an adapter, ‘BT11+Adapter’ is an impractical solution IMO (way too bulky & inconvenient).
Right now, I use BT11 on my work laptop (where I can’t install anything, not even LDAC driver, per Corporate policies…). But even here, my laptop is one of those with only two USB-C—one must be used for power/charging—both on the same side. BT11 can “eat” 3 USB ports and prevent me to charge the laptop:
Not FiiO’problem, but I agree, (USB-C) iPhones is the primary target for BT11.![]()

Yes! When I’m at a my desk, I connect BT11 to the dock for my laptop. No issue.i think maybe a cable with one USB-C to two USB-C is good for you![]()
This is very interesting - thanks for sharing it! I would like to do the same thing and connect my lightning iPhone to the FiiO BT11. I wonder could you maybe share a link to the Ibasso cable and the other device between it and the BT11. Is the Ibasso a lighting male to usb A female adapter? And is the other one a usb-A male to usb-C female adaptor? Many thanks. This is a post for Information on my experience connecting my iPhone with Lightning connector with BT11.
Hoping this helps other having possible issues. Also the photos are to help illustrate what I’m trying to achieve here.
iPhone 14 Pro Max with iBasso lightning cable and USC C Female adapter works. But took 3 attempts with this failed message in above picture.
I had to reset Bluetooth. Also note due to BT11 having UAC 1.0 , try to unplug and reinsert the USB C part of the BT11 the opposite way. (Like some USB C devices will only work if you plug it in the other way around)
LDAC on iPhone with lightning is possible. (Although Fiio has said they won’t be doing a lightning version this setup works)
Best part is having this setup in my bag and remotely controlling Apple Music from Apple Watch.
I use BT11 with a W11 laptop and a XM5 at work: no particular issue. If you read this thread, it’s obvious that FiiO still has a lot of work to do to improve the BT11 experience.Does anyone think this is still worth getting? I would consider using it for my Switch, Steam Deck, Windows PC, and MacBook Pro paired with my XM5 headphones.
I would consider the Creative BT-W6, but it doesn’t feature LDAC. I could be wrong, but this might be the only one that does both LDAC and aptX-HD. And if it’s still having problems, best to just keep waiting. If there is another solution, I’m certainly open to it.I use BT11 with a W11 laptop and a XM5 at work: no particular issue. That being said, your scenario where you would plug BT11 into various sources, but always connected to the same HP, may be one of the most “robust” use cases of BT11—where it works “best”, if not great.
Worth getting it? I don’t know…
It does not support that, the BT-W6 does.I would be interested in this adapter as a LC3 transmitter for my computer

New firmware expected to be pushed in 2 weeks
We will be updating the app at the same time for some new features
It is expected to include the following:
1, LE AUDIO on/off
2, LDAC and aptX lossless encoding selection
3, Broadcast mode (trial function)
4, Optimization of use
We BT11 choose to connect through APP, it's a difficult road, unlike Cretive-W6, but I think APP is the forward-looking one!
It is not recommended for true wireless earphone users to purchase the BT11, WF XM5 lacks physical volume buttons. Adjusting the volume is very inconvenient, and you may encounter issues with the volume being too lowDoes anyone think this is still worth getting? I would consider using it for my Switch, Steam Deck, Windows PC, and MacBook Pro paired with my XM5 headphones.
It's lumped in with aptX Adaptive, there just isn't an option to specifically enable/disable it in the FiiO Control app. They've previously said they are working on implementing that.Where are APTX Lossless and Snapdragon Sound? Am I missing something? The Fiio BTR17 also lacks the declared APTX Lossless and Snapdragon Sound. Fiio Control simply doesn't have them!
