OK so I finally figured it out, sadly it took time as I'm Android not iOS user but luckily tech savvy, anyway the bluetooth on iPhone was on and all, but then I went to check the Fiio app setting as I wanted to clear the cache of the app and to my horror saw that bluetooth access was disabled for the app, no prompt, no warning the damn iPhone silentpy disabled bluetooth in FiiO app which sole purpouse is bluetooth use with the FiiO hardware... One more reason on my list to steer away from apple...Sure not a problem happy to help!
Hope you get it done eventually!

[FIIO BT11] Portable High-Res Bluetooth Transmitter Is Officially Released!

After initializing the BT11 settings from the latest FIIO Control on my Android device, I was able to downgrade to 1.0.7 using FIIO Control on my iPhone.
Update from PC version of FIIO Control was not successful
Pulling out the BT11 did not break it even while the update was being displayed (went about 10 times...)
I can expect that the update was not initiated in the first place

No it wasn't initiated and doesn't work through PC and their web "updater", please read my post above I was able to get the update working through my wife's iPhone (I'm Android user) and I'm must say so far so good, AptX Losless seems to work now, sound is really good on my Losless heapdphonesAfter initializing the BT11 settings from the latest FIIO Control on my Android device, I was able to downgrade to 1.0.7 using FIIO Control on my iPhone.

The new firmware appears to work at first, but becomes chaotic when attempting to pair multiple earbuds. Finally, BT11 itself was no longer recognized by the app and loses control. Now BT11 is rejecting BT connection requests from my App.
Even BT11 w/ 1.0.9 looks still an out-of-control product and not in reaching beta stage. Would an average consumer be able to use a product like this?

So the new features/settings are only available via Android with the newest App update but not for Apples user so far.
BUT (and it is a big but).
You cannot update the firmware to get these features/settings via Android, you need an Apple device to do so.
What are FiiO playing at?

In order to use v1.0.9 on Android device, you will need to use ios device to update.
The moment you update bt11 with ios, ios stops working with bt11.
what a joke lol

Hi there,
A friendly user on the FiiO forum posted a solution that worked for me:
“Perform a downgrade from a local file:
Download v1.0.7 firmware”
Source: Firmware update 1.0.9 for BT11 destroyed my device : r/FiiO
I wasn’t able to find the firmware myself yesterday, but after downloading v1.0.7 to my iPhone, I downgraded the firmware from the local download folder. The process went smoothly, and now I can use the BT11 like before.
I find it very strange that FiiO allows users to brick their devices with a new firmware update and doesn’t provide any official help to fix the issue.

the worst part of the issue is that Fiio control app on IOS gives you pop-up with a bunch of Chinese characters with 1.0.9V included.Yep. Sorry, FiiO. That's a wrap. I'll never, ever buy another product you make.
If you click confirm, your bt11 will be bricked in ios.
Thankfully I have been playing with bt11 and know how to downgrade firmware so I am back to1.0.7, but this is sh** show.
Where did the Fiio rep who was always sitting here praising us go? Hey, Fiio rep - come back and show us how to update from iOS and Windows before everyone else kills their devices! In the meantime, the Fiio instructions are as follows: Stick the BT11 into the nearest tree, wait for a solar eclipse, and throw our cool device in the trash!

When downgrading on iOS does it show a progress bar? I’m trying to do it and I’ve just got a spinning wheel
EDIT: Been able to sort it.
I think I’ll try the upgrade again once the iOS app has been updated

Apart from the Android/iOS update BS, BT11 now works on Android, I confirmed all codecs, not only the right mode (LED color on BT11) but also audio quality which in AptX Losless mode really is amazing, such a nice separation between frequencies and instruments, bass, treble, mids, timber, ...
On the downside AptX Low Latency (LL) still doesn't work I tried with other LL sources (Steam Deck, other Low Latency dongle) and my headphones definitely work (indicator on Headphones) but with BT11 only AptX works (purple light) with only LL turned on I get blue light (SBC).
Also in the pairing list you can have max two headphones (see picture) and have to do pairing each time you add headphones not on the "two" list.

that’s good news. Hopefully this means it’s just the iOS app itself causing issues at the moment

And a miracle has happened ! After more them two weeks with my BT11 only flashing blue and unable to enter pairing mode again last night it has accepted pairing again … unable to downgrade with my own iPhone, I tried connecting to my wife’s IPhone and been able to downgrade so now waiting with firmware 1.0.7 to have the Fiio control upgraded on IOS too before trying 1.0.9 again
