FIIO 2024 New Product Schedule-From FIIO James

I just received the skylight DM13 yesterday… after a month long shipping wait. I really think FiiO needs to get onboard with the Aliexpress shipping services because I get even electronic items in 7-8 days. I’d pay a little extra for it if I had to.

I was slightly disappointed to discover it won’t work with the BT11 (or Creative BT-W6 or the Flairmesh FMA120 for that matter). Largely because I’ve seen both the JM21 and the M23 work really well with these aptX Lossless dongles. So, I assumed that universally, across the current product range, they’d work with external UAC dongles.

The dongle powers (when “Power In” is receiving power) and connects to my receivers but it would seem it’s not negotiating and connecting on the DM13 USB side.

When I connect the DM13 to a computer, I can see it has the appropriate 2-channel USB Audio out. So, it has to be some sort of firmware capability that’s either missing or deliberately blocking it. Perhaps the DM13 currently just does UAC2 but the BT11 and other dongles need UAC1. 🤷🏼‍♂️ It’s not a huge deal because, of course, I could just listen to the digital files another way or just settle for aptX HD or wires.

Is this something that could be changed in the firmware @FiiO or was there a specific decision to not allow this?

Nice Amp, FiiO K17 headphone amplifier will ship late January and is priced at $899.99 / £899 / €999.99. I like the retro design, it's not consistent with the other new release products. No similarities between these products if i sit the streamer on top it may look like its not part of the same set. I guess you can always set them apart. :apple: 🍊

(15) Bluetooth Transmitter/Receiver Series

Originally, we thought to include this product line and cables with the peripheral series, but later, we thought it was better to have a separate section.

FIIO's Bluetooth transmitter/receiver series mainly aims to address the shortcomings of some old equipment that doesn't support Bluetooth or doesn't support high-definition Bluetooth. In fact, these products have quite large sales volumes and are relatively affordable. However, most of them only support standard Bluetooth codecs, and their craftsmanship, design, and sound quality are not geared towards audiophiles. So, many people have asked us to help solve this problem, and we've taken it upon ourselves to do so.

In 2024, we'll be adding 2 new models to this series.

1. Smartphone LDAC transmitter BT11
This is mainly aimed at mobile devices, especially since iPhones only support SBC/AAC transmission. It's quite a pity not to be able to connect them to high-end Bluetooth receivers.

So, we've designed a very compact accessory that supports LDAC transmission. Simply plug it into the interface of an iPhone, and you'll have LDAC transmission capability. In this way, iPhone users can finally enjoy better Bluetooth codecs.

It's worth noting that, for various reasons, we've decided to only make it compatible with the latest generation Type-C port iPhones and will no longer support the Lightning port. We hope you can understand this decision because the market potential is limited, and although there's a large inventory of old iPhones, consumers are gradually upgrading. We've experienced this firsthand.

Additionally, this accessory will not be priced very high. For us, the main goal is still to help users solve problems and improve the sales of our Bluetooth decoding earphones and other products, rather than expecting significant economic benefits.

Furthermore, the BT11 can also support the Nintendo Switch and can be plugged into computers, laptops, and other devices that support USB audio output to add LDAC transmission functionality.

The BT11 is expected to be available in the summer at an affordable price.

2. Bluetooth transmitter decoder all-in-one unit BTA50
The BTA50 is the flagship of the BTA series, mainly based on the BTA30 Pro with many additional features and ports to improve the user experience, as well as adopting the latest Qualcomm Bluetooth chip.

Currently, this product is still in the planning stage, so any demands or suggestions for the BTA50 are welcome. Here are a few main improvements:

(1) Added XLR balanced line output;
(2) Added quick switching/pairing buttons for multiple devices;
(3) Added a more intuitive large display screen (not yet certain whether it will be a display screen or more lights).

The BTA50 is expected to be available in the fall, with the price yet to be determined, but there will definitely be a significant difference from the BTA30 Pro. These two models are not substitutes but rather have different positioning.

Thus, in 2024, FIIO's Bluetooth transmitter/receiver peripheral products will include the smartphone LDAC transmitter BT11, desktop Bluetooth receiver BR13, BTA30 Pro, and BTA50.

Any update on the Fiio BTA50 release date?

If you are still taking onboard suggestions I would recommend:

-Separate AC input, this solves dozens of charging/Audio quality issues, if you value audio quality this step should never be ignored.
-Aptx adaptive with low latency and high music mode support, since it replaced aptx low latency several years ago
-Aptx family BT codec suite (aptx classic, aptx-hd, aptx adaptive) including aptx lossless
-Separated control of Aptx Lossless so one can select it manually (otherwise it will cause lots of problems)
-LE audio support (both low latency LC3+ and LC3 for higher audio quality)
-Easy option to switch BT codecs and more important the ability to switch Low latency on or off (simple low latency on/off button would do) but should work
with aptx adaptive and LE audio.
-Separatee led colour to show which BT codec is selected and used ie aptx adaptive low latency purple and aptx adaptive high music mode green etc
-internal RF/BT shielding or metallic case to prevent BT pairing/signal issues.
-Wide compatibility with headphones such as Edifier Stax S5 and other top end headphones/wireless buds
-BT Chipset should be optimised for low latency, it should not take 1-2 minutes for it to adjust or get better. So use latest chipset/drivers (Bt 5.4)

I have tested and reviewed £1000+ BT transmitters and dongles, they have all failed to work in one way or another, they are either faulty or not compatible or the low latency is poor at best.

I hope fiio can produce a good product with the BTA50, would be fantastic if you can provide any information on its release or feature set?

@FiiO Any news about 2025 roadmap ? I'm really curious about M27 and new R2R DACs (and in a perfect world, a minidisc player).

We may have to wait a few months for that.

It would be nice if Fiio provided some updates. The M21 and M27 were supposed to be released at the end of last year, but that didn't happen. Now we're waiting until April for the new roadmap? I guess some 2025 products are going to be holdovers from 2024...
This kind of roadmap is practiced almost exclusively by Fiio. They release a lot of products every year. I think it's too much. There will be setbacks in product releases in my opinion.

They updated on Facebook that information. M27 scheduled June this year sometime. M21 is April this year.

When is the FT7 going to be released? I was hoping to avoid the tariffs and I hoped the price would be below the $800 de minimus exception.
