FiiO’s Next Plan for Players
Dec 10, 2020 at 1:23 AM Post #31 of 56
must be complicated.

It's not complicated at all. But the Fiio rep told you to check "All Music" in the Fiio Music App and you went to settings/general/general apps and have no idea what "disable" or "force stop" means. From that I am pretty sure that it would be easier and quicker in the long run to guide you through in an online call, rather than try to tutor you through here.

But I'm happy to give you pointers in here so you can give it a try.
You're using Fiio Music app to listen to your music, right?

So you turn on your DAP and you open Fiio Music.

From that first screen you see, choose "Local Music" - it's just above the middle of the screen.

From the row of icons at the top, the center one (box with a note in it) is "All Music". If you have scanned your SD card in Fiio Music, this will show you all your albums.

The one on the right (folder) is the one that I use exclusively. It will let you browse your folders on the SD Card. If you are frequently adding or deleting albums, this might be quicker and easier for you. You don't get such a pretty interface, but it's fast and if you organise your folders (I do) then it's easy to find what you want.

@fractus2 did that help at all? Concerned that the Fiio music app might be different (though I assume you're able to update to latest, not sure on m7 though)

Give it a try, and maybe you will get a surprise.

Are you aware that K1000 are properly driven mostly from serious amplifiers or full size stereo amplifiers? That is the way they were designed.

I was trying to take a look on the spec sheet, but I have got an alert from ESET that fiio.com is infected by trojan HMTL/ScrInject.B. So... yeah.

@fractus2 No response? Did that help to solve your issue?

Already knew how to do that.

This is the process to play a song...

1 - From a cold start - press power button for a few moments to turn on, I still have to wait for it to turn on, then,

2- swipe to turn on / get to the menu, then,

3- hit Fiio music app and wait for Fiio music to load, then,

4- hit / choose folders, then,

5 - hit micro sd card, then,

6 - hit the first song to start playing music.

This is a dap (digital audio player) - why can't it be ready to play upon power up?

Because, while it is a DAP it's also a pocket computer running an operating system, which means there are a range of things a user might wish to do on powering on the device.
Sounds like Android based players might not be for you. Might be worth shopping around for something which is less flexible and more specialised to simply playing music.

Our future mid-to-high-end players will change the processor platform. But due to a fire in the AKM factory resulting in the supply of the AK4497/AK4499 we originally planned to use encountered problems, the models that are about to be developed have to urgently replace the DAC solution. Therefore, except for a new 4497-based model that would be released in limited quantities in 3 months, other player models will be delayed until after the summer of 2021.

@FiiO @WianFiiO Is there any more info on the new 4497-based model? Is this going to be an M11 upgrade in the $400-$500 price range? Even though it is limited, will it still be available in the USA? 3 months from when this post was written is February 2021, which is almost 2 years after the M11 was launched in 2019. 2 years seems like the appropriate time for an upgrade.

Also while I have owned the high-mid end models (X5, X5ii, X5iii, M11), it's interesting that you will abandon the low-mid end models. I think FiiO should model their DAP line up after Hiby with something like this:

M3Pro compare to Hiby R2
M6 (upgrade) compare to Hiby R3pro
M11 (upgrade) compare to Hiby R5
M11pro (upgrade) compare to Hiby R6 2020
M15 (upgrade) compare to Hiby R8

This would eliminate the M5, M7 and M9, but still keep a few low-mid end players in the mix.

Hi Fiio. Could you consider adding streaming services like Tidal, Spotify or Qobuz to your Fiio Music app?
Dear friend,

Thanks for your kind feedback. We will consider and assess about that.

Best regards

Hello Fiio. First of all, thank you for sharing your future plans with us.
Do you have in plan to launch in the near future a new high end in-ear headphones (better than FA9)? Can you estimate when you will launch the replacement player for the M15?
Best regards.

I really appreciate how Fiio shares the information about their current business and future plans, I feel confident about the products you are making. I am interested in a high end DAP for the first time and I am waiting to see what Fiio will unveil soon!
