True, @rec71 even if I do any numbering on the track it follows some weird sorting technique like modified date or something. Its abit annoying like the only way I can get lyrics is by playing from file browser, so it follow this order. Right now I'm doing manual sorting by SD sorter app.
Btw if you want a simple trick to fix it (I edited the post with this info after you replied) - prepend the filenames with "01-", you can see the last image in my previous post. If you have multiple disc numbers it will break but this should fix most sorting issues for now.

Folks, I think I solved the issue in my case! I took another look at the metadata using MusicBrainz Picard, and in tracknumber I had it set like 1/11, 2/11 etc., so I removed the /11 part and suddenly it works! Feels like a crutch, but works for now.

That's a good catch - I will try it later today. I wonder if they are considering discnumber metadata in their sorting.

I use a program called SDSorter to sort all the files I have on the card according to their filenames. It works perfectly fine for me

Could you please take a look at what the track number of "10.pink" in Picture 1 is?
Figure 2 is currently sorted by copy time in file browsing.
It is 10/10, other tracks go like 1/10, 2/10...
I mentioned it in another message, but removing the /10 part from metadata or apending a 0 so they are like 01/10 solves the issue. Seems like the ECHO sorts tracks numbers alphabetically by first 3 chars too (i.e. it was 1/1, 10/, 2/1...). So not really a "bug", just a consequence of how the device does things. Time to go change metadata in all my music 😄

I would consider it a bug. Even with the device limitations, they could try to parse the number from the string and sort by that.

Would it be possible to share the CPU model, or is it secret? I tried to find this info to experiment with making a custom firmware, but had no luck.

Hello Friends,

Today's video is about the latest Snowsky Echo Mini, a portable audio player which is available for about $50 only. Don't get fooled by its compact and handy design because this little beast packs a power packed performance. My biggest surprise was this portable audio player driving the FiiO FT1 Pro headphones with ease.

Packing in Dual CS43131 DAC setup, the SnowSky Echo Mini provide full support for high-resolution 32 bit PCM and native DSD music playback. With a powerful amp section, the audio player has a strong output power rating of about 250mW per channel. Another key surprise with the SnowSky Echo Mini is its dual headphone jack setup where we get a 4.4mm balanced and a 3.5mm single-ended output. Getting a dedicated balanced output in this price bracket for a portable audio player is really impressive.

In terms of sound, SnowSky Echo Mini impressed me with its neutral to slightly warm sound signature. I have tested it with a bunch of my IEMs and the DAP has provided a clean output with good extensions on both the ends. It also has built-in EQ function, multiple digital filters, and an impressive battery backup that lasts for almost 12 hours with the balanced output.

My only takeaway would be, the physical keys are a little hard to navigate a huge library and the Bluetooth connectivity is pretty meh. Moreover the microSD card slot only supports cards up to 256GB storage.

Overall, an impressive device which one can carry daily. Excellent sound clarity, balanced headphone jack, powerful output, and a super impressive price tag, all these features make the SnowSky Echo Mini a great recommendation from my side!!

I updated my script so when it copies the file it updates the tracknumber metadata based on the suggestion you made with a small improvement to handle the disc number. It solved like 90% of issues. There's still one album which is messed up for some reason. I will probably make a post about it tomorrow since I have no idea why the sorting is behaving any different.

Thank you!
