Fidelizer 2.0 - Introducing new UI with multi-core optimizations

I definitely agree, edited my post a little as well.  I tried my own linux platform and could not get it to work properly enough to consider it good.  SQ was not there.

Reason why I use foobar is primarily because theres nothing being modified unless you make it so.  Its a trustworthy app, as is Stealth Audio Player.  Which I would use full time if I was able to find a good MP3 decoder.  Pre-compliled libmad/sox seem to all be a slight degredation, and I keep running into problems when I try to compile libmad with sox in visual studio.

As for whatever not, people would buy a paper clip if someone told them it made the sound better.  I would agree with the risk of people stealing fidelizer and selling it though.

This market is too small to make profit without boastful advertising lol. I'm already making fine living now for more than what I need. I just don't want to see possibility of some smartass people making XStreamer Ultra-like stuff with Fidelizer on startup and claim more $$$ saying it's their innovation or something to fool around. Maybe it's too good to give it for free huh? But who would buy some random and mysterious application without believable technical advertising?

Anyway, I used to give it a try for Linux but main problem is decent audio interfaces usually ended up running on either Windows/Mac. Weiss MAN202 tried to archive ones in Linux for avoiding fixed cost with license from OS+Application but it seems far off from Windows/Mac in terms of SQ and usability.

WindowsX,

I'm on windows 7 sp1 and i definitely hear an improvement on NuForce HDP, though i had to use nuforce usb cable cause the stock cable was really inconsistent. Congrats on the app, it is great to have everything at one click of a mouse and not to spend hours tweaking stuff. It is especially useful after windows reinstall, saved me a lot of time:)

What do you think about running CMP after fideliser? Would it further improve audio quality? I know it wasn't designed for seven, but i tried to run it and it worked, tough I didn't have my setup at the time so it was no use.
But theoretically, do cmp tweaks interfere with fideliser? I imagine they can override some of the settings, but killing so many processes would sure help, especially when i have now only 512mb ram (too bad i can't try pureplayer with such small memory).
Did anybody compare cmp with fideliser or had any luck using them in duo?

Cheers:)

Fidelizer is a great cocktail to juice up any audiophile project because most of stuff in there are ground-breaking features that can easily out-bested Mac. Seeing comment like "Now foobar/xxhighend/cmp/etc. with Fidelizer in 7SP1 is better than Amarra/Fidelia/Audionirva" can easily made my day. :D

For CMP, nothing overrides CMP after using Fidelizer.

Seriously, i heard new sounds in recordings i thought i knew by heart:) Not a night and day difference though, however it is hard to come back to somewhat nervous sound of untampered win7.

So does CMP override all the changes of fideliser or, as I suspect, the fideliser provides low-level changes and optimises the entire system, meaning that starting cmp after it will only lead to even better performance?

Exactly, Fidelizer can't make things worse for audio playback if someone not totally be wrong in there. Just do as program suggest and you'll be fine. Make sure you close audiophile player before using Fidelizer though.

Secondly, I don't think this will affect any SQ. If your computer is slow to begin with and your music cuts off occasionally, or if other processes introduces unwanted noise to your headphones, then this might be useful. If it always played songs back smoothly, it's not going to do anything for you. You will not get more soundstage or hear clearer highs. It's just insane to think otherwise.

I appreciate the effort of programs like this, but the truth is it's not going to make any difference SQ-wise.

Every change can be reverted, but if your worried I would create a backup if possible.  I would say restore point but.... I found that system restore is not always reliable which is why it is disabled on my system(even before I went SSD)

Or you can do what I did, and take no chances running it on a seperate disk or partition.  Installing a second copy of windows is REALLY easy if you do it from a current windows installation.  Just a few clicks and no work is required on your end.

The, the thread priorities, ntsys timer settings and services all revert after a restart (services are only stopped the start-up mode isn't changed, and the other 2 don't carry over after a restart).
The only damage you can do is accidentally resetting your browser session by setting the home page to the fidelizer home page, so be careful with that. (although it's not really an issue now as long as you untick the right box)

If you undertand that every electronic interface seems to have a hardware mode via jumpers or switches like in a dac and software mode via link from an external device like an arduino for a dac then you can see your pc transport via hardware mode with your motherboard, cpu, ram, sound card, etc. but via windows you can access its software mode and disable a lot of useless services to save ram and divert cpu resources for audio purposes. I'm not a software engineer or a programmer but I know you can save ram and divert cpu resources using the registry but beyond that it seems more complicated to access the core of windows to disable stuff further and convert it for audio purposes only. It seems best to disable stuff in a motherboard's bios but that is limited compared to windows. I have read that maybe using an arduino may introduce digital jitter to a dac but you can disable more stuff so I don't know the counter balance or argument to that.

I think the main factors to a good pc transport comes down to the cpu and to a lesser extent the motherboard, clean power, and tweaking windows.

So it now supports 64 bit but it still runs as a 32 bit program in Windows 7 64 bit?

Changes in version 1.6
-Added realtime priority booster for Windows Audio in Windows XP to compensate missing features
-Improved priority optimizations since Audiophile level
-Changed run level to require Administrator rights on execution
-Removed autorun features as some users finding it confusing to handle

/s still works in silent mode though and people can manually add it if they wish... I don't really see what confusion you're referring to...
