1. My left earcup sounds louder than my right one. Is there any test to run for this? Is it normal? I really don't wan't to return them as apart from this they sound great.
 
2. What are the recommended settings for gaming and music with a Xonar DG? I have the unified drivers at the moment, with the settings at 
- 6 channels
- Headphone
- Amp is set to 64 Ohms
- Dolby headphone on if gaming, off for music.

Turned the cable a bit, same volume on each side now. Phew. Thought they were broke.

2-channels for music. 6-channels for movies and surround sound gaming.

So you would recommened Dolby Headphone to be off? Also, do I need to change anything in the Windows sound settings?

I personally can't play games without Dolby Headphone anymore. The default in-game audio is generally done terribly, jumps around way too much from left to right.
 
For music I always keep it off though. If you're looking for accuracy, you should too. But if you prefer it, leave it on.
 
Never tried using more than 2 channels on my soundcard... I'll have to try it for gaming...
