guys I am using Hippo VB , but feels a bit less in mid bass quantity . After some research looks like Eterna V2 is right for me . I have following doubts

1) Can it be worn cord down. I mean regular fir, I do nor wear over the ears . If yes how is the comfort for regular fit.

2) How it stands for fast trance music ? Joker's review says that it lacks clarity and resolution on fast tracks.

3) This for those who have heard both Hippo VB and Eterna - Is there really noticeable difference in the bass quanitity among the two ? I like the deep bass of Hippo VB , but it lacks impact slightly IMO

The way the phone is designed, I can't see how you could wear it straight down - must go over the ears.

Have not listened to the hippos, sorry.  And I don't listen to trance, but I do find they miss a little something with fast music.  I find them to be a little source dependant.  what are you using for a source?  my fuze does not quite gel with them as well as I would like, but my iriver e10 does (as well as my sony e407).  And they are pretty good on my samsung p2.  I would think about trying the brainwavz models, m1, m2 or m3's.

My source is Iphone 3gs. Brainwavz M2 seems to be step down in SQ from Hippo VB  based on what have heard . Also they have less bass than VB or Eterna . M3 again seems to be bass light.Only eterna seems to have higher quantity bass than VB. So if eterna does not fits my needs I might keep Hippo VB

1. No they can't be worn normally. Only over the ears but it's very comfortable and you won't even feel like it's there plus there won't be much microphonics.

2. I listen to mainly rock, metal.

3. I have not listened to Hippo VB before so i can't comment but i don't know whether. Only the first version of Eterna has very prominent mid bass quantity. The Rev.2 sounds similar with the bass quantity but tighter mids i guess. Probably you can get a Fiio E5 to give more omph to the bass due to the bass boost, just a suggestion cause i have used both Fiio E5 and E7 before and E5 makes the bass even more prominent on my Eternas. You should probably try to see if any local shops allow you try Eternas first only then can you compare.

thanks for your inputs, I think I will keep my Hippo's for a time being and will wait for something like DDM's improved ( comfort and fit wise ) model

btw I heard Iphone 3GS already has hreat line out and amp is not required. So will my 3GS get substantial benifit by E5 ?
