I have no idea who my avatar is. I just found the picture on the Internet.

I might be a smoking hot female for all you know.

Such an original thought you had, but maybe if you perused the search function a little more you wouldn't fill space with yet another thread on this fascinating subject:

For anyone who hasn't been here for several years this might be an interesting observation. At least it were to me, although can't completely relate to adrifts problem. Avatars and name often plays a big part in my first impressions of a member. In which case a kitten believing it is an enormous worm from the planet Arrakis is a big plus, and a woman covering her boobs with a headphone is a big minus.

If people actually used the search function the new thread and new post count would drop by about 90%

And I'm a PWM wave.

However, I get what the OP is saying...I find female avatars odd when used by men.

Zappa's awesome.
To me he is an icon of free though and speech, but the symbolism of a Negative Zappa seems opaque.
Hence my impression remains positive, yet somewhat ambiguous.

When I log on, I immediately undergo a sex change, become animated, and start bleeding from the ears from too much hifi.
