I have purples in both May and bliss. Though i can’t say for certain they do anything special. Haven’t bothered to replace fuse in the Envy

I tried purple fuse in my DAC (Bartok at the time) as I read thats where you can hear the most improvement.

I think it did improve clarity a little but not too much of a degree.

I'm always a little wary of swapping something like a fuse as it's basically a safety device to protect the equipment.

Of course people have been replacing them for years and I've not heard of any units being damaged. Just make sure you have the right fuse for your region!

As I understand it the SR "master" fuses are meant to be excellent but a little pricey.

I tried purple in Envy, ears couldn't detect any difference. Others have though so only one way to find out...

Made the decision today to dip my toes into the waters of WE300. Bucket list tube and need to scratch a big itch so will find out in a few weeks. Really looking forward to hearing them and listening to them on their own merits rather than as competition against TM.

For the WE guys in here, what's your go-to short list for driver pairing?

Oh yes . Have only had the base Elrog 300, but I would be surprised if you don’t like the WE.

It’s a sketchy topic and synergistic research is a very sketchy company. My logical mind says it’s all expectation bias, but i thought i noticed a slight difference in the Bliss. In the May i was too lazy to compare

Not yet…they are coming from the other side of the world!

There was a black base pair of tall bottles on ebay, think they were '45 or '46, I hesitated too long and they're sold now. Wish I'd got them, tall bottle without cracked base problems!

Keen to hear what you think vs the short bottles, shout when you've had some time with them.

I heard the Envy anniversary edition at canjam. Listened to it on my Caldera. It was OK. Seemed kind of bright and soundstage was non existent. Had a lot of power through.

Sounds like it was paired with a 15€ dongle DAC... or had the worst tubes in existence.

I agree I loved the WEs with the Melz and the RCA 5692s as well.

From what they advertise on their site, the best improvement is the Master Fuse on the source then Purple on the Amp. But yeah it's hard to put your mind in the right condition where you spend that amount of money for something like a simple fuse.

hard to believe because my standard envy with er300 or we300 have a huge soundstage
