In what way do they sound the same? As far as I understand, a transistor amplifier cannot enrich music as timbral as a tube amplifier. Clarify your judgment.
I think he means the XLR and RCA inputs sound the same. Could be wrong.

So do the driver tubes have to be a match. I always thought so on other amps. Is this different? I see some Melz on eBay but probably not legit or they’re singles.

Edit: ah probably wrong year haha

Are the XLR inputs supposed to be any better than the SE? Just curious because I’d like to use the XLR inputs on the bliss if possible.
The XLR supposed to be just one transformer more that converts the input to SE. So SE may even be better. But good point, have not compared before. Maybe time to try.

Is it possible to use Mullard ECC32 or ECC33 with this amp? These are some of the best tubes out there, but not an exact drop in replacement for 6SN7. A lot of amps and preamps can use them in the 6SN7 socket, but some can’t. My amps can use them, but unfortunately my preamp can’t.
I use ecc32’s regularly in Envy, the online menu states you can. Not sure if this is normal, but using HD800S I need to switch to impedance mid, and then it’s sublime. I’m not an electronics guy, so it must be to do with the synergy coming together with ecc32’s.

Ok I finally packed up the Envy for diagnostics. I was getting some weird issues that tend to happen with the left driver channel. Comes and goes. Either that or all my Melz decided to crap out at the same times. LOL ...

Dangerous times are coming. Up to now you were changing tubes. What will you be changing now? :)

Was able to snag a pair of 300b Elrogs. Not MO but I think I may be ok. We’ll see.

Using MOs today?
I just swapped them back in this afternoon, but honestly, not listening to anything at the moment. Kidney Stone has flared up and I'm in some pretty serious pain. Just took a Tramidol, hoping this pain goes away...
