Don’t discount those Tak’sGo team MO! Hehe

I will need to listen to them first. Curious now haha.Don’t discount those Tak’s![]()
On a side note, I overdid it again.
Got a isolation platform done.
Had someone build a 1.5 inch thick slab of American Walnut. Used Shellac.
Underneath I’m using 4 Orea Indigos.
I wish I still had the faulty microphonic MOs to test it out. But I was banging on the desk excessively and heard zero microphonics.

My Plinth arrives tomorrow just out of coincidence! You recommend those Orea Indego's then?

NICE WORK AND EFFECTIVE! I use Rogoz audio table with patented BBS isolation system. Actually there are 3 tube amps on upper platform and no microphonic is audible. ACCUPHASE cd player is on separate table and Acoustic REVIVE Quartz discs applied under its feet. Small but noticeable improvement in 3D presentation
Did you share a picture before? Would love to see it.NICE WORK AND EFFECTIVE! I use Rogoz audio table with patented BBS isolation system. Works for me. I was excessively banging my desk with closed fists like a baboon while listening to classical and zero perceived microphonics. My Plinth arrives tomorrow just out of coincidence! You recommend those Orea Indego's then?

So there's a reason my Takatsuki's live in the gun case now - they just can't compete with the Elrog.
Are they clean, yes. Are they resolving, sort of. Are they a match for the Mo's? Nope.
Thin and weightless. They lack any kind of "oomph". The bass is rolled off, and there's no real sub-bass to speak of. They're bright and sparkly, and a bit strong in the vocal range (which is to be expected with bass lacking counter-balance). They're just not the same, and never will be.

My Audio Rogoz rack is placed on the BBS system and the oak tops on anti-vibration spikes. In addition, I put the Envy on specially made BW4O MKII feet, also made to size by Rogoz. Although the Envy, as the manufacturer claims, is not sensitive to vibrations, I believe that my amplifier benefited from the anti-vibration additives used.
How about against the Elrog ER like when I compared? Love to hear your thoughts. Perhaps one day I'll get to hear a pair of Elog MO's....So there's a reason my Takatsuki's live in the gun case now - they just can't compete with the Elrog.

I believe @ColSaulTigh does not have the ER, just MO
Ah... OK. Thanks very much for advising.I believe @ColSaulTigh does not have the ER, just MO
All of this is very subjective.
The ERs are great and although the MOs are technically better I'd imagine the MOs would be pretty bright with some headphones e.g. the Original Utopias.
With the Melz in combination I can even find them a little bright with the Meze Elite's on occasion and that's really saying something with the Meze house tuning. It has to be pretty poorly recorded 80s music for me to hear that side of them - so it doesn't happen often.
Some people may not enjoy quite that amount of detail either. It might be fatiguing for some or simply not what they are after in their setup. In these cases the ER would be a better fit.
I think if you use the Brimar's with MOs instead of the Melz with brighter headphones then that might be a better balance. I cannot decide which I like more personally.
Synergy with the headphones and other driver tubes is also very important of course and there is no right or wrong here.
I've found it invaluable reading this thread and learning about different tubes and other available options.
There have been some great suggestions and wonderful advice. It's all about finding out what is right for you.

I don’t see how this helps anyone. You haven’t mentioned your chain or even which headphones you used. To just mention bass weight as a factor is like saying no stand mount speaker is worth listening too because they can’t go below 40hz.So there's a reason my Takatsuki's live in the gun case now - they just can't compete with the Elrog.

Where is the mention of musicality, of the tonal colours each tube paints, of the emotional involvement you felt with each tube.
Sorry but as turbofeet mentions this is very subjective and synergy between components and indeed tubes is paramount.
Anyway just my two cents, I’ll revert back to the sidelines.
