Or, you could just listen to Adagio for Strings, op. 11 by Samuel Barber...

Hmm.

Dr. Strangelove or How I Learned to Stop Worrying and Love the Bomb
A Clockwork Orange (starting off with two Kubrick's, I must like him)
Casablanca
Apocalypse Now
The Usual Suspects
The Matrix (a guilty pleasure)
Starship Troopers (most people didn't get what Voerhoven was doing)
Robocop
High Noon
The Man Who Shot Liberty Valance
The Sixth Sense
Pulp Fiction
Leon (international version of The Professional)
Aliens (just to get Cameron represented)
Schindler's List (Speilberg can be a real director when he wants to)
Seven Samurai (a list without one of Kurosawa's best? No way!)

I'm not a big western fan at all, in fact I don't like any (except for Unforgiven)...but there's an old movie called Once Upon A Time In The West...a movie by Sergio Leone. It stars Charles Bronson, Henry Fonda, Jason Robards, and some others that don't come to mind. A great, somewhat long film, and which I saw only once, long ago. But it had some pscyhological impact, and a sense of drama (accented by the music), which I found interesting...not your typical shoot 'em up.

piece,

I have the soundtrack for Platoon on vinyl...i know, its scary...

I agree with your selections though, Robocop kicks ass.

Yes, gloco.

Verhoeven is God. Ed Neumeier is Jesus Christ.

Nobody understands Verhoeven's intentions of his obviously satirical movies. Also, because I have a twisted mind, the violence is all part of the gut-busting sense of humor that is distinctively Paul's style.

hirsch da man!
Casablanca...liked it much better than Citizen Kane..
If there is one movie where so much nomenclature was taken out of it's Casablanca.
American Film Institute had Kane #1, Casablanca #2....oh my!
Surprised no one mentioned Star Wars trilogy...Hmmmmm....

I have 2, and most people think I'M NUTS when I tell them my favourite movies. They are (in no particular order):

1. Beauty and the Beast
2. A Clockwork Orange

One thing they have in common is their excellent sound tracks. I really wish they would release a special edition of A Clockwork Orange with some nice special features, and I really wish they'd release a GOOD special edition of Beauty and the Beast. I haven't gotten a chance to see it yet, but I've heard that with all of the special features on the disc, the picture isn't great.
