My favorite is Mingus, Mingus, Mingus, Mingus, Mingus.

I study Latin though so I think Mingus, Ah, Um is coolest album title ever

Ok I am missing something here, let us non-Latin scholars in on this.

Scott

PS - I almost picked this one up the other day, grabbed "John Coltrane - Blue Train" instead, this is on my list though.

Mingus, ah, um

Most Latin adjectives have several possible endings for modifying nouns of different genders. For example, the word "homo" (as in homo sapiens), which means "man," is of the masculine gender. If "mingus" were a Latin adjective meaning "Mingus-like", "Mingus-like man" would be translated to "homo Mingus." "Femina" means "woman," so Mingus-like woman would be "femina Minga." The word "opus" (meaning a work or creation) is of the neuter gender (neither masculine nor feminine) and so Mingus-like work would be "opus Mingum."

When students of Latin learn vocabulary, they learn each adjective as modifying each gender in the nominative case (basically, modifying nouns that are the subject of a sentence). So instead of learning something like "magnus" (great), the student would memorize "magnus, -a, -um." The "-a" is pronounced "ah."

I suspect I could have explained more concisely but there you have it.
