what is a good (cheap) external DAC to get?

would the cheap Chaintech AV-710 sound card good enough?

i use gilmore lite headphone amp

HD650 headphone

source are 192kps mp3s

is the source a bottleneck ? -OR- it's more than enough?

You're dealing with an amp that has a lot of room to grow, and can easily be well matched with sources many times its own price. At $25, the AV-710 is a good source at great value, and if you're only going to be listening to 192Kbps MP3's then you don't really need an extremely expensive an highly resolving source.

I use the silverstone dac to a gilmore lite to some hd600's and think it sounds great. It seems to get mixed reviews around here, but I really like it.
