Exclusive: Final Audio EVA 2020 at Audio46

I remember reading about these in being made for movie and TV watching. Did they change the target to work for audiophiles? Or was that the Final 3D model that was released alongside the Final EVA?

Mm....odd design choice. Trying to look different is laudable but in this case, it is im the wrong direction. Pre-teens designed this.

The design and the color scheme are inspired by 3 models of Japanese mecha anime Evangelion series (color schemes corresponding to Unit-01, Unit-02, and Mark.06). When I talked to Final rep from Japan back in Feb at CanJam NYC, he mentioned this was targeted at Japanese market only. So, I'm pleasantly surprised it made its way over to US, and as far as I know, audio46 is the only one selling it now ($249 on their site). Still need some time to test these, but even out of the box after a few hours they sound as fun as they look, warmer fuller body sound but not veiled or muddy, plenty of details and clarity. These support BT5.0, AAC/aptX, and together with a charging case provide 63hrs of playback. Also, come with a new shallow TWS edition Type E eartips. Here is Unit-01 which my youngest already called "avocado" :D

Got the Final x EVA 2020 a few days ago and I can report a very positive experience so far. Very well built TWS earphones, despite their somewhat « toyish » aspect. They actually look and feel gorgeous.

There are not only very comfortable, but they also sound really good. Refined warm sounding OOTB with the stock Final E-tips, switching tips brings the FEVA2020 to another level, at least for me and my ear anatomy.

I first tried my to-go tips with the Final E5000, namely the Sedna Xelastec:

Perfect isolation. The wide aperture improves soundstage and tames a bit the warmer tone while keeping the intended bass impact. This is my 2nd choice.

Then, the Final E-tips Clear:

Longer than the stock tips, the Clear go a bit deeper in the ear canal and allow a better and firmer fit. Soundwise, this is very similar. 3rd position.

Finally, the JVC Spiral Dots ML:

The slightly longer structure and wider aperture do what the Sedna tips do from a sound point of view, but they are even more comfortable, while isolation remains perfect. Gold medal and my way to go with the FEVA2020.

Great TWS earphone all in all. Autonomy and range are top-notch.

It’s a premium product and another home-run from Final Audio.
