I have to ask... how do you know how good / bad this mod really is when compared to Etymotic sound? - Granted, you've mirrored the ETY frequency response, but does that take into account the EX70s own FR which is VERY different? - does it take into account isolation, and the added closeness to the ear that ETYs provide?

Joe... If after you've got the ETYs, you can't tell any difference between the two, then i'll take my hat off to you... but running a lossy format such as MP3s through ETYs is not my idea of fun to try to prove a point... and, once you have the ETYs, what are you going to do with all of your EQ'd CDs?

I have the ER6 and EX70. I must agree with Peddler. This is the only time the Sony's sound okay. I find the ER6 lacks bass at very low volumes.

i have the er6 and the ex70, and it is a bit unfair to compare the two. the er6 costs more than twice as much, and in comparison sounds like it.

in defense of the ex70, try the silver mod. it targets the treble and bass issues. the mod is a little tricky but is worth it. my argument for even bothering with this mod is i have never encountered a portable headphone as convenient and all-around useful as the ex70.

You remember the guy who did the ER6 vs EX70 EQ comparison? (AlphaHX) Well he told me that he made quite a few EQ'ed CDs and is keeping them because he finds the EX70 more useful on the go because of less microphonics and occlusion...

Well at least that's what he said a few months ago.

And besides I'm getting the etys, remember?
