Eversolo Flagship DMP-A10 Streamer, DAP, DAC, and Preamp

I was hoping that Eversolo will release a product that is more than just a facelift of the A8 or even a streamer transport.
Unfortunately, they‘ve missed a big opportunity to do so.
Since they upgraded the chassis they should have also added a bigger display.
Why adding better clocks and then removing the I2S output???
However, with the new SFP port, OCXOs, isolated USBs and the better power supply I‘m sure the SQ will slightly improve.
The Eversolo room correction system could have a much bigger impact on the SQ, if done right.
I expect a price increase of 500 - 900$.
Tomorrow we will know…

Wait, so what is the DAC chip in the end?? I've seen descriptions saying dual AK4499 but the photos say ESS9039?
What a mess...even Audiophonics says it has an AKM. Stupid marketing trying to hype it up causing a mess of misinformation.

Doesn't seem like much of an upgrade. I do like the sfp port though. I think I'm going to just keep my A8 and swap in better clocks and lower noise power supplys. Not going to be worth it to upgrade, you lose i2s, and still have a smps. I can see it being popular though.

Maybe replace the a8 psu for the new lps-a8 upgrade from LHY?

That one is still rather noisey and the whole point of an lps is low noise. I'm replacing mine with with one made by Ian Canada and a Toroidy supreme audio grade transformer. It only produces 0.8uV noise compared to 30uV noise of that lhy power supply.

€4000 here, they fell hard on their heads...
Same story as always - company X releases a well performing and well priced product, it gets hyped to oblivion, then company gets greedy, smells dollars and they start milking it and looking for the limit how much audiophools are willing to spend.
If it turns out to be €4k including tax I bet they will be discounting it heavily within a few months.
