Ever been knocked unconscious?

No concussion? I got one in soccer last year, same kind of thing. A guy hit me in the side of the head and I got a concussion. From now on is what people told me. Apparently I was running around in circles right after it happened even though I was being called off the field. Someone had to pick me up and lay me on the sideline, there I went unconscious. I woke up having no idea where I was or what was going on, and dizzy. People told me what happened, I didn't believe them, I went home. The next day at school one of my friends had the idea to get everyone to tell me that that day was my birthday. I had no idea so I actually got excited. The only thing I could remember was my name and I had to have people lead me to my classes, where I stared at the ceiling for the whole day. Overall a fun day!

In the course of human horseplay, roughhousing and flat out fighting, possibly 4 or 5 friggabillion people have be knocked out. He'll be fine. I've had it happen a couple of times. I'm fine.

When I was little I was walking around our driveway with my eyes closed...

Then I woke up on our couch.

I've been unconscious a few times. One time I was by myself at home lying on the couch, listening to some music. I had to go to the bathroom so I got up (too) quickly. Found myself lying on the bathroomfloor with my headphones still on and a song playing. I had no idea how I got in the bathroom or what had happened.

A few years ago, I was running down to the basement quickly, and I leapt off the bottom step. I am 6'4, and the door frame is not that high. I remember a horrible cracking noise, then waking up with a splitting headache, lying on my back on the floor. I'm not sure how long I was out.

Never been lucky enough to get knocked out. I've experienced the painful stuff conscious even when I nearly died after a serious motor wreck I remained lucid.

Edit: I've been unconscious twice, but both times when a medical specialist administered anesthetic before surgery.

been unconscious way too many times... here's a couple of funny ones:

- in high school, standing with friends on the playground, I 'blinked my eyes' and was suddenly standing at another position in the group. I was confused, but didn't ask till later that day. I was told I had passed out four times. They had helped me up three times and I had been saying I was ok and refused to go and see a medic. After the fourth time they thought I was faking it and they let me get up myself. Which I did after a while and as I didn't fall down anymore (as I had finally stabilized a bit by laying down a bit longer), they thought I finally stopped mocking around and didn't pay any further attention to it. With friends like these...

- I also passed out twice on one eveninge breaking my nose (twice on one evening) as a kid. First time the impact of running into some other kid both at full speed knocked me out. His elbow also broke my nose sideways. After recovering I was taken to a bathroom to wash off the blood. Looking in the mirror (still a bit dazed), I noticed my nose was crooked to one side. Before anyone could stop me, I quite brutally bent my nose the other way... breaking it again. From the pain and the visual shock (I literally ripped the cartilage part of my nose off the bone part) I passed out again, hitting the sink with my chin on my way down. Now my nose is semi-detached

only the lower part of the cartilage is still connected while the upper part is loose. Now my nose can be bent flat to my cheeks...

I've had a couple of times when I've stood up too quickly, usually first thing in the morning, after being susprised by my alarm clock. Most recently I managed to hit my head on the way down as well, right on the corner of the bed. That hurt.

The other time was playing my french horn. Massive high note, written to be played as loud as possible, for several bars. My concert shirt was a little too tight, and as I played the note, I felt little black spots appear in my vision. After ending the note, I had 50-odd bars rest, and I remember being rather surprised that I had only counted about 15, when we reached the next figure.... madness.

I have never been knocked out by a punch in the head, but have got hit hard enough in the face to fall to the floor (on a kickboxing training), but it was just to rise up again, didn't heart

Although I got hit by a kickboxingtrainer (he's nt so bright) so hard in the stomach so that I barely couldn't get up, this was one of the worst experience I can remember, it felt like I was burning inside.

Once while playing soccer (keeper) I went well outside the inside box to snag a loose ball just at the moment a striker came at it full on. I tumbled head-first through his legs (coming out the other side with the ball). People asked if I was alright; I think I said yes. I woke up on the field as if from a dream, standing, kind of staring at the score board in hazy disbelief, watching the timer tick down. We had been scored on once. Apparently I had continued playing for a full 20 minutes (albeit poorly). I don't remember any of it. I'm pretty sure I'm fine today. Eep. Erp.

I got cross checked in the bridge of the nose right between the eyes in a floor hockey game in high school. I never went out but I don't remember walking off of the court to the bench.

I watched a video tape of it afterwards...it was weird to see myself doing something from the day before that I have no recollection of. The worst part wasn't the actual hit, it was falling straight back and getting my lower left leg caught beneath myself...it really tweaked my knee and hamstring. I was lucky I didn't tear my knee up...
