So I've been looking at these on amazon, and I think they would work pretty well for me. They have a pretty good isolation, compared to other models, which is the most important, and they seem to have good sound quality.

I enjoy every type of music, but mainly electronica and rock.

Anyone wanna try to second guess me or reccomend something else?

With the right fit (flanges or foamies -- I like the Shure or Comply foamies, but YMMV), they have very good isolation -- so much that I wouldn't wear them skiing, even with the music turned off. With the isolation comes a reduced need to turn them up to ear-bleeding levels -- they're really clear and detailed ... very good value. The cords might seem frail, but hold up better than Shure's heartier-looking cords.

Yup, sure seems that way. Since 20h back I've been in the search for a good and not-too-expensive pair of IEM's, and the er6i's sure get a lot of recommendations.

The only think that stops me from getting them right away is the fact that they might be a bit light on the bass, but I guess I'm used to that from my K701's

Unamped, since I want a very slim and portable package.

iM616 is a step up from ER6i, certainly not the same. If you like to know, Ety actually names iM616/716 the 'ER7' series. The only problem of iM616/716 (comparing to ER6i) is they need amp to shine.
