I was about to purchase some ER-4s's from B&H and the price went up to $300! WHY? The price was $140 last I checked, what gives!?! has something happened to drive up the cost? does anyone know where I can pick them up for ~140$ new?

it was about 6 months ago, memory serves it was actually closer to $170 but it was nowhere near 300 i'm not cheap, but I only have $200 at the moment, maybe I should pickup some HD595's their price has gone down since the HD598s came out....

Not sure. The price on the ER4s seemed to jump everywhere. Last year, Amazon had them for around $180. Now they're over $200.

About Oct/Nov of last year, the price of the ER4 jumped up to retail everywhere -- no real explanation, but Ety must have mandated a new pricing schedule.  It was right about the time the popularity of the MC5 spiked here and other music gear sites.  But it certainly killed a number of people's plans to buy an ER4P, including mine.  I went for the HF5 instead.
