I'm just looking for a good pair of noise isolation ear phones, I heard that etymotics where in a league of their own but also heard that you can't beat custom molded in-ear monitors so I started a tread to see what other audiophiles think?

etymotics?

custom iem?

or do you think etymotics with custom molded earpieces are worth it and why?

I'm in a lab at school about 18h a days and 12 of those hours I can't hear myself think.

thanks in advance!

Etymotics (when inserted fully and properly) provide isolation that is unparalleled by ANY set of IEMs. In my experience a pair of the Etymotic gray triple-flange tips, inserted deeply, isolates better than my JH16s.

more of a detailed articullated sound to tell you the truth. I posted on here before to see what people sugested and that's why I'd like to go with either etymotics or iem's. my budget I'd say is under 500$. I really want something that'll isolate idiots in my lab that don't seem to understand that air between two people does not block sound!.
