so es7 is easy to power with any power source such as cd player or zune?

I tested it directly out of my iPod Nano, and was very surprise with the sound quality. I found most AT cans sound very good directly out of iPod, in comparision to others.

I don't think you have any problem driving them directly from your portable sources.

Yeah, no problem at all with my Creative MuVo 2 FM 5Gb. Plenty of volume to spare, it has 24 nothes, i only use it at 13.

After all, the ES7 has very low impedance.

You can set the volume to your normal listening level, and then put the phones flat on your table or your thigh to observe how much it leaks. Also, please tell us the volume indicator on your source (ie. 30% on ipod, or 10 o'clock on your amp...etc).

For me, at the normal listening volume, I can't hear a thing if I put the phones on my thigh.

Another question for current ATH-ES7 owners: do you have any difficulties wearing them around your neck?

I think I read of one owner who said that he/she couldn't wear them comfortably around his/her neck. Also, if you do wear them around your neck, the pads are the side that is showing, not the mirror cups, right?

Keep the cups in the same position as you had them on you head, then they're perfectly wrapped around your neck. I just tested them a minute ago.

And if it doesn't, I notice it helps if the metal elbows of the ES7 are bent to become straighter.

(Wow, I've been plugging this like crazy)

i think some of my mp3's volume are kinda low, so i cranked up the volume abit.. thats why the volume is kinda high and the gain set on my amp is not correct..
my amp is at 2 o'clock and my source is 90%

Ah that's good news, looks like that mod really is a win-win situation for these 'phones.

I just got in on a deal for a new pair of Sennheiser HD 25 (I've always wanted one of these, don't boo me!

) for about $140 shipped, but I'll also probably pick up a pair of these and maybe compare. I'm kind of lazy, so I might not post detailed impressions, but at least I'll post which one I preferred (and sell the other).

Or maybe I won't like either like was the case when I tried the two semi-open canalphones, the V-MODA Vibe and JBL Reference 220. I didn't like either, so I sold them both here. Though I highly doubt that I won't like either one of these.
