For sure. That was just for fun. A lot of pentodes and beam tetrodes were used as strapped triodes in Euforia- an OTL that really should be using 6sn7 and 6as7.

However Hypnos1 deserved credit not for using those tube in Euforia but for highlighting those power tubes.

EL38 and EL39 became more adopted because of that.

What Glenn build is different though. The GEL3N amp is design for it. That is a OTC amp.

I had a listen of 6s3p-dr and EL39 again, the combination that Albert loves. Great tone. 6s3p-dr is all about clarity. Who doesn't love clarity.

Miflex > 6BW4 > 6060T Brimar > EL12 Spez.

In fact, I particularly liked the "3D effect" of the previous combination with 6S3P as the driver tube, but I find the ton much more impressive with this combination, consisting of Miflex > 6BW4 > 6060T Brimar > EL12 Spez.
Unfortunately I don't have access to Matt's toy box, there would certainly be a lot more possible, although I am absolutely satisfied with my modest possibilities.

By the way, I notice that the majestic effect of UltimatE can hardly be captured in a photo, which is a shame.

Many didn't realise how good EL39 and EL12 spez are. If they did, they would be snapping it up now but there's not much of EL12 spez left to be snapped up and in time, EL39 will be dried up too.
