6F5M is mu of 100 and Ri of 66K not 6.6K

Could work just as well as a 12AX7.

The morning started with Philips EC86 and Philips EL38. It's a Philips world and a mighty good tune. Will roll EC86 with some of the smaller power tubes later.

Meanwhile I have WE 420A with Tung Sol 5998 in Ultimate 6as7. There are a lot of driver options on this 6as7 amp as well. This the first time I'm using We 420A with Tung Sol 5998. This is a premium sound.

I was listening with Philips EC86 and Radiotron / Sylvania 807 and it is good but I'm OCD and cannot go on using mix brand 807.

What a coincidence. I ordered a pair of white ceramic base RCA Radiotron 807 last week. Arriving this morning, I just shortened my adapter wires and plugged them in. Tremendous tubes, can compete with any top dogs. I also have 2 Nat Union pairs, get some before the price soars up.

Hi Matt, I was lucky and paid $35.00 US including shipping + tax. The tubes are normal size, the adapter wires were so long that they touched the transformers, so I cut about 11/2 inches off.

Yesterday I was rolling some small power tubes. First up is the Mazda 6DR6 which is a EL81 variant. It's good but my score is a conservative 8 upon 10. Next was the el cheapo 6P14P aka EL84 and this is a 9 upon 10. 6P14P is really good. Amazing sound from Ultimate with that. My drivers have been Philips EC86 all this time. Get some EC86 and 6S3P guys. They are life changing tubes.

As pretty as those RCA 807 tubes, that's how ugly these tubes are:

A blast from the past from the eBay 99c stores - bought a lot of 6C5 tubes for $11.60 ($1.29 each) including freight and sales tax - no extra charge for the rusty patina. But it took some negotiation and best offer try to get this price.
Above is a pair of MAZDA-RCA(?) and RCA-Cunningham 6C5 from probably the early 40's - no codes visible.
This lot has RCA, GE and Ken-Rad tubes:

The bottom row should be older tubes with the indentation on top.
They play nicely with the 6BL7GT Sylvanias:

Put in the Ken-Rad tubes now - one is from 1942 and the other from 1946; the Ken-Rad house sound has good bass.
