This is the equivalent of 6F6gt. I've been transfixed by the sound of this power tube for the last 6 hours, thanks to Eric.

In time to come, this will be as famous as the Melz 1578 although that is the 6sn7 equivalent so it's a different tube.

Thanks Matt, always good intel from you sir! Are these tubes somewhat incisive / analytical in character? That's how I perceive Melz 1578, wondering if they share the same general sound sig. as their countrymen.

Pretty much Lory but incisive in a good way. Tight bass, extended treble and engaging mids, what's there not to like.

This new UltiMATT not only looks so much better in real life, but it also sounded amazing for all of the headphones we tried, Susvar, LCD5, HE6, HD800 and Grados...

This is 3rd Ultimate amp i tried and each time it amazed me how good this amp was... Great treble extension, a great soundstage...yet has zero noise...

can see why Matt is so excited with his new amp...

Thanks @xtiva for coming by with @gzbaga. It's always good to get more opinions regarding Ultimate. For me the highlight was trying the He6se V2 again and LCD-5. I had the He6se v2 before but hearing it with Ultimate is a very possible experience. Likewise hearing the LCD-5 the 2nd time (the 1st was an audition at Addicted To Audio last year) with Ultimate. Both headphones paired very well with Ultimate. Very revealing, neutral sounding and great dynamics and tight bass.

I felt that the upgrades to Ultimate was worth it because by now I really love how the amp make my headphones sound. I felt that it was worth giving it as much love as I could because Ultimate is here to stay.

One interesting observation was all 3 of us reckons Ultimate drives Susvara very well for vocals and rock.

Ultimatt - Brimar CV455, Fonon 6F6M1 metal base, RCA 6BW4.

Silver Ultimate - Raytheon 5751, Radiotron 6F6g, Sylvania 6BW4.

Not sure which planet the Fonon came from but it won't be leaving the amp anytime soon. I love it when a tube sounds great and is cheap to buy.

In the name of science, I've also bought these 6F6S coke bottle shape Fonon. Shall let you know how they sound but it's got to be close to their metal base cousins.
