Love the GE 6550A and JJ KT88, combined with C3G and Mullard GZ32. Mids and vocals are articulate, airy and deep on GE6550A and a bit less on JJ KT 88 (Brand-New tubes). Fantastic bass, it hits very hard even on HD 800xx (modded). I love the vocals and mids and the UltimatE delivered.

Better tubes and rectifier will make a difference. Takatsuki released their 2A3 only in 2022 at the Melbourne HiFi Show and judging by their TA-300B (released in 2010), I believe it will be a great sounding tube.

I'm listening to SupremE with just a EH 300B but it sounded great. Bryant is going to order the WE300B but I won't get to listen to it. Just going through the various rectifiers.

I am drooling Bryant. Never heard of a 300B amp before.

UltimatE has gone to the right person. You have all the good tubes ready. I always thought that the mids are special on UltimatE but it excels in all other departments.

SupremE is based on UltimatE circuitry and it is even more special in the mids with the 300b tubes. With 300b tubes, the warm up time is a lot longer than the pentodes.

Bryant is a lucky guy and a man who knows what he wants. He has 3 of the best McChanson amps and also the Nirvana.

Chameleon, UltimatE and SupremE. I've listened to all 3 of the amps before it goes to Bryant. Now he can take it to his mini Arizona meets but the SupremE is a lot heavier than the UltimatE with the addition of a 2nd choke and the filament power supply for the rectifier.

Thank you Matt, for introducing me to Ultrasonic Studios and McChanson amps.

Bryant is going to make his local Hi-Fiers very happy.

Thank you Matt, for introducing me to Ultrasonic Studios and McChanson amps.

Telemachus is supposed to have solid state and tube rectification selectable via a switch. I didn't want to push this idea to Eric. Telemachus was supposed to have Monolith Magnetics output transformers but I think the SAC Silk transformers used in our amps is good enough.

I am privilege to have gotten close to Glenn, Tomas and Eric.

Here are a few more. Tung-Sol 6V6 black glass with Kenrad 6C5, EL 39 with Amperex red tip and GEC KT 66 with Brimar 6J5. Love El 39 and Tung-Sol 6V6. Gec KT66 falls behind.

I am having a fabulous time rolling tubes, like a kid in a candy store. UltimatE has so many options and combinations are almost endless. The EL3N tubes exceeded my expectations. I got a NOS pair from France for $85.00 (shipping + tax). I listened to this song by Eric Clapton and, to my ears, it sounds even better than GE 6550A. It has a warm touch to your soul, and is very airy. Vocal, mid and bass hit with authority. If you like vocals and instruments, this is tube for you. I am not sure whether that is my imagination or the amp is getting better as it is burning in.

It is not your imagination- figure around 150 hours for the amp to burn in. Then add in what is required for the different capacitors…

Woke up to be greeted by the beautiful sound from SupremE with HD800. This Sennheiser with the right tube amp is still as relevant today as when it was first introduced in 2009.

Also trying this full wave direct heated rectifier 5T4 for the first time. It has the same electrical spec as 5U4G. Strange I have never heard this rectifier mentioned in the rectifier thread. It is an old tube from the 1940s. :)
