Matt hope your vacation continues to be stellar. Can anyone confirm that xulingmrs' EL84 to 6V6 adapters are the correct ones to rune EL84 as powers in UltimatE? I am interested in trying these, additional impressions welcomed as well. Thanks all, happy Sunday!
Next project for my Mini that I think will have more success than the 6AS7 attempts - going to work on inserting a DCDC up/down converter into the input heater lines to allow variable heater voltages so I can run a lot of tubes I have on hand that I use in my other amp with this functionality. This should be fun and will update on its progress as it comes together.
So the heaters in the circuit are ran off of 6.3VAC - at this time I now have inserted a SS rectifier module for the input heaters only and it is currently running off of the now DC rectified voltage from it without issues, while the power tubes and rectifier are still running off of the VAC. Now, I wait for a DCDC converter that is up to the task, as surprisingly the one I thought would do the job can't. So, we wait for the new converter to arrive and go from there - one step closer to getting this implemented and being able to run a wide range of the various heater voltage input tubes I have acquired due to my other amp with variable heater voltage.
Was gifted a lovely pair of Svetlana KT88’s and I’m just listening to Yello through them, great bass and mids, speed of music is lovely and fast very enjoyable.

Actually, I may have spoken too soon about the converter not being up to the task. So, I did a bit of troubleshooting and what do you know, it's working.
Here is the Brimar 13D1/CV432 (or 25V version of Brimar's 6SN7 version, the 13D2).

I still do not like how it performs or operates, the converter that is - I am looking for the same sort of functionality I had with my external heater supply with my two old OTLs, but all within (minus the additional current handling abilities) - still going to replace it with something else then look to get it all set inside, with the converter controls on the outside.

Still no reason not to have a little bit of fun - here are some of my favorite inputs on my variable heater voltage amp, the German WWII LD2 triodes - magnificent sounding, truly.
After I get this mod in place, the next order of business will be moving the 1/4" output jack to the front panel - this way I can have a single adapter for tubes like these that sit closer to the top of the chassis to improve the aesthetics - but I am functionality first, form second, so converter mod is first in line.
Here is a pair of Mullard PCF80s being ran off of their triode sections (9.0V heaters).
Ken-Rad 1633, which surprisingly I am liking more than the Brimar 13D1 - extremely good - wow!
