Here is a link to the 1st draft of my new UltimatE tube compatibility table:
https://docs.google.com/spreadsheets/d/1D_XLHXI8a994dEhi3A7WjDdxA0ryyaGh4MXt2mOf6Vg/edit?usp=sharing

A couple of notes:
* If your UltimatE has no 6J5 sockets - ignore those rows in the table.
* As mentioned in the bottom - tubes in RED require confirmation from Eric (or an act of bravery by @UntilThen). Until then, use at your own risk!!
* Please let me know if anything there is wrong, or needs to be added. I do not intend to give edit permissions, to prevent accidental edits / deletions...

Testing testing speakers 1 2 3... :relaxed: All good ! Ultimate powered these 88dB 8ohms speakers at nearfield very well. Can go loud without distortion. Beautiful sound that only a tube amp can do.

These are Axis LS28 speakers. Specs and review here. https://www.stereonet.com/forums/topic/241586-axis-ls-28-bookshelf-speakers-wonderful-sound/

Hello

@Zachik
I think the 6201 is still missing from the 12au7 genre.
And thanks for the list, it helps to keep track of what needs to be considered 🙏🙏🙏

@UntilThen
Have you noticed any differences when changing the Rectifer tube alone?
I would be interested if there is a difference between 6bw4 and Ez 80/81 or if you can neglect that if you just choose one of the 2 variants.
Have fun with testing.

I only have 6BW4. Stock market crash after buying all the other tubes and adapters. :wink:

I am not sure if C3g in 6V6 adapters will be a good path to go. As far as I remember C3g in triode mode had a gain of 41. This is a lot, I managed to go in output stage up to around 20 gain and for that I had to put max 20 gain tubes on input (12AU7, 6C4, 76, 6C5) because my amp went a little bit noisy. Tomas told me the simple rule: input - high gain, low current and output - low gain and high current. I am really curious to know what will be, but I have my reserved expectations.

There is only one way to find out. If you don't hear from me again, it means Ultimate has blown up and I will bring it back to Eric because he told me it's ok to use it.

I doubt you will damage it and you have Eric to fix it. I only say be careful with the volume pot and have reserved expectation about the result.
