I had ordered a pair from my local computer shop (www.ncix.com) and at first they said they were on back order and then they called today and said that they were discontinued? Is this true or are they just playing games with me?

I see EP630s around, and they are still being recommended for those seeking cheap canalphones.

Besides, Creative still has them on it's website.

I wouldn't know whether they've been discontinued, but I have known there to be delays in receiving them from time to time ... maybe some distributors have trouble getting shipments in. A co-worker had to wait six weeks or more for a pair, but she said that for the price and improvement over the iBuds, it was worth the wait.

I think the 635 is the successor model. There are probably still a hundred thousand of them around for sale, though, if you want the original.

I think i am going to get a pair now. Amazon is selling them directly now for $27.99 with free shipping. Before it was sold by office depot.
