They're VERY thuddy - even more so than the MDR-V700. Unless you have EQ or a thin source, not exactly the most usable phone on this planet. Works a treat with thrashy music and low-power equipment like those 5mw into 16 ohm Sony PCDP's though - and works even better with recent Sony MD's - cuz they have an EQ!

One word of warning: If you are bouffant of head, prepare yourself for a Sydney Opera House profile...
