Empire Ears TRITON Launch Edition Now Available to Preorder

I realise this post won't make me popular, but I'm growing increasingly tired of the cynical tactics being employed, of late, by many IEM/CIEM brands, including, but not limited to:

Flagship pricing illegitimately going through the stratosphere.

Co-ventures with cable-vendors, to justify jacking up prices even further.

Slight variations in tuning, limited to certain co-ventures or certain countries.

Artificially limiting production runs, in a cynical attempt to stimulate buying behaviour.

And many other tactics...

It's sad to see the direction the industry is going.
This bloated pricing for IEMs, is us consumers' fault also. But this market is going to be saturated soon. There should be some pressure from consumers part also though, to enforce more reasonable prices.

How's the treble on these? I briefly owned Odin but it was just sooo bright. If these are smoother I'd definitely be interested.

  • Impedance: 2.8Ω @ 1kHz
What is Empire Ears smoking?! Most speaker amps can't drive a 2.8Ω load without going into protection. :weary:

Good luck with this. :confounded:
IEM's don't require anything approaching 60W-100W for 86dB at 6 feet. They're operating on mV/mA power levels.

The annoying thing is source pairing with 4.4 out. Most exceed 1ohm between 1.2-1.4 in great cases, some lesser BAL out approach 2. I can't think of a portable 4.4 source under 1Ohm.

RS8ii => "1"(4.4)
A&K Ultima => 1.6 (4.4) / 1.7 (2.5)

Here are the specs I found on Bloomaudio.
  • 4-driver Tribrid: (1x) W9 Dynamic, (1x) BA, (2x) Bone Conduction
1Ba for mid? Are those BCs for mid just like the 622b? Treb? I'm curious...

At $1799. There so much to offer in used market. Consider with tax would be closer to 2k marks, even more options there.

It's a direct competitor to FiR Electron series e12. Definitely crowding the sub 2k market this year 🥲

I'm really curious as to how the Triton compares to the Noble Audio Spartacus and the FIR Audio e12. I've been looking at both the Spartacus and e12 for a while now. The more I read about the Triton the more I think it may be another good option.
