This bloated pricing for IEMs, is us consumers' fault also. But this market is going to be saturated soon. There should be some pressure from consumers part also though, to enforce more reasonable prices.I realise this post won't make me popular, but I'm growing increasingly tired of the cynical tactics being employed, of late, by many IEM/CIEM brands, including, but not limited to:
Flagship pricing illegitimately going through the stratosphere.
Co-ventures with cable-vendors, to justify jacking up prices even further.
Slight variations in tuning, limited to certain co-ventures or certain countries.
Artificially limiting production runs, in a cynical attempt to stimulate buying behaviour.
And many other tactics...
It's sad to see the direction the industry is going.
IEM's don't require anything approaching 60W-100W for 86dB at 6 feet. They're operating on mV/mA power levels. What is Empire Ears smoking?! Most speaker amps can't drive a 2.8Ω load without going into protection.
- Impedance: 2.8Ω @ 1kHz
Good luck with this.![]()
Here are the specs I found on Bloomaudio.
1Ba for mid? Are those BCs for mid just like the 622b? Treb? I'm curious...
- 4-driver Tribrid: (1x) W9 Dynamic, (1x) BA, (2x) Bone Conduction
At $1799. There so much to offer in used market. Consider with tax would be closer to 2k marks, even more options there.
