First previewed at CanJam Singapore, where @DiFazio and I were genuinely shocked by how unique it sounded, Empire Ears TRITON is officially official. With 350 units available worldwide, and only 83 in the US, the Launch Edition includes an exclusive Monarch cable, blue Pandora case, blue Opus leather case, blue cable tie, and gym drawstring bag. Pretty rad.

We'll be among the first in the US to have stock at the end of August, so preorder now to ensure you get a limited Launch Edition.

  • Impedance: 2.8Ω @ 1kHz
What is Empire Ears smoking?! Most speaker amps can't drive a 2.8Ω load without going into protection. :weary:

Good luck with this. :confounded:

What were the impressions of the sound besides “unique”? 😆

Quoting @DiFazio from his show recap: “I believe myself, and a few others, at the show were actually quite surprised by Triton’s tuning. I jokingly called it “Odin’s Evil Twin” in reference to this IEM seemingly focusing much more on tonality than its technical performance. But don’t get me wrong, Triton still has a mostly resolving sound signature, but both the impact of midbass, and the thickness of the sub bass mostly dominate this sound signature. The midrange, I would say, is the next take away, being quite full and cohesive in its delivery. The treble resolution and extension would probably be my biggest gripe with its sound signature, but even then I still find it to be mostly refined and well presented. Overall, Triton should reside well with Empire Ears house sound enjoyers, and presents a fun compliment alongside the highly resolving and technically efficient Odin.

My only concern with EE IEM is their housing. Is this one robust enough?
Yes, most definitely. They did extensive work after the Raven launch to revamp their production process to ensure their IEM housing is rock solid.

Is the blue pandora case limited or is it the leather case?
I believe it's the leather case that's limited to the Launch Edition (please correct me if I'm wrong, @Jack Vang).

I realise this post won't make me popular, but I'm growing increasingly tired of the cynical tactics being employed, of late, by many IEM/CIEM brands, including, but not limited to:

Flagship pricing illegitimately going through the stratosphere.

Co-ventures with cable-vendors, to justify jacking up prices even further.

Slight variations in tuning, limited to certain co-ventures or certain countries.

Artificially limiting production runs, in a cynical attempt to stimulate buying behaviour.

And many other tactics...

It's sad to see the direction the industry is going.

I hear ya, but this one is actually priced sorta somewhat reasonably and sounds like it has a very unique sound signature. I don't really feel like this cable jacked up the price. The limited edition thing is just a marketing strategy to test it's popularity. They ended up making more Odyssey's right?

Here are the specs I found on Bloomaudio.
  • 4-driver Tribrid: (1x) W9 Dynamic, (1x) BA, (2x) Bone Conduction
1Ba for mid? Are those BCs for mid just like the 622b? Treb? I'm curious...

At $1799. There so much to offer in used market. Consider with tax would be closer to 2k marks, even more options there.

Would it be possible to buy the cable alone?

Looks like the Monarch cable will be sold separately later this year for ~$999. Here's some more info.
