I'm buying an AKG K-271 Studio for these reasons:

Very affordable, and sold by authorised dealers at a reasonable price.
2 year warranty (not a 90 day or 1 year warranty) covers parts and labor.
Good reviews by Head-Fi'ers at the recent Chicago meet. Many favored them over a more popular Sony headphone.
Can be used in a professional setting.
They do not leak sound, and noise doesn't leak in.
Can be easily driven by most sources.
They look really good.
