Just received my fifth Edition 9 (and last?). This one I had modified by Ken at ALO with a 22G JenaLabs Cryo and ALO Silver 22G hybrid. The silver wire s thicker in diameter than the 22G JenaLab's jacket accordig to Ken. With some break in they'll sound super I hope.

As for the quintuplets clockwise

1. Edition 9 (No. 629)ALO Cable described above
2. Edition 9 (No. 1043) stock
3. Edition 9 (No. 1036) with Balanced XLR and Silver Dragon
4. Edition 9 (No. 604) with Silver Dragon and Furutech interconnect (4 feet).5. Edition 9 (No. 1013)with Silver Dragon and Furutech interconnect (10 feet)

The ALO has a 1/8. The Furutech's are 1/4. I use the ALO Cryo adapter for 1/4 to 1/8 interconnects.

Actually I probably listen to the Balanced with the RS B-52 and I use the 4 foot silver dragons with my iQube. The iQube and the Edition 9's are a great match IMO.

Fair point. I've always liked the Edition 9. I got the Balanced first I think and I love it with the RS. Interestingly, IMO the Edition 9 really changes color depending on the recabling. More so, than for example my Denon 5000's or the K701's just to name a couple. I find that fascinating and it makes it more capable of being "matched" to a partiular portable or home amplifier.

For example, the Silver Cables with Furutech interconnect work great with the RS XP-7. Fare more expanive than stock and thus far, different from the ALO Cryos.

And, of course, I just like them.

I thought I was nuts! At least you know what you like, and that's always a good thing.

That was supposed to be "Love Potion #9", not "Edition 9". You took the wrong potion and instead of having 5 different girlfriends, you have 5 diferrent Ultrasones.

How long did they say the potion would last before wearing off.

I have a hard enough time deciding what shirt to wear each day. I couldn't imagine having to pick which af the Quintuplets are the flavor for the listening session.

If it gives only a small group of people a bit of a chuckle, then my work was worth it.

Now that's classic guys. I suppose I did take the wrong potion. I have developed quite an affection for the damn things.

I've noticed some interesting subtleties in the production line though. The early production models do not have as "tight" a headband adjustment. The chrome finish seems brighter on the earlier versions etc.
